OK, here goes:
a) We are told that the liberals' response to 9/11 was to coddle the terrorists. Status: completed.
b) The hapless Dems will have to go on record once again, as having been in favor of the Afghan war, Operation "Get OBL." Status: completed.
c) We are told that OBL is not in Pakistan, as we've been led to believe, but is actually hiding out in Iran. Status: underway, pending confirmation by Porter Goss and the new and improved post-9/11 CIA.
d) Iran elects a hard liner. Status: completed.
e) Iran wants nukes. Status: well known, although negotiations are underway. Bolton's provisional appointment as UN Ambassador will facilitate their breakdown.
State of play: The hapless Dems are tripping all over themselves now to show how hawkish they were against Afghanistan after 9/11. True enough, but Shrubco didn't get OBL, did they?
OBL was much more valuable as bait to lure us into the next war. So, whether it's true or not, they will TELL us that OBL is in Iran, or whatever the next regime-change-du-jour happens to be. Military enlistments will rise temporarily as we invade another country; maybe we get OBL, maybe we don't. But this will all take place just in time for the '06 elections! (Remember the recent effort in Congress that called for an Iraq exit strategy to begin in OCTOBER 2006!)
The hapless Dems will have no choice but to step up to the plate and say we have to get Bin Ladin. If they don't, they will lose more seats as Rove continues his attacks against liberalism, aided by talk radio and other disinformation campaigns, Psy Ops, more terror alerts, the high price of oil, etc.
And besides, it's a volunteer army. They knew the job was dangerous when they took it right?
One more thing though, for those of you who are not aware: Congress -- not the President -- authorizes the DRAFT, and they're all up for reelection in '06. Big coincidence huh?
There could be a big turnout by those who would be draft-eligible, assuming they are allowed to reach the polls, and there is some form of verified voting. If not, we will be in for a rough ride.
The plan for '08, which I'm sure is also well underway, will be not to change horses in the middle of the next war. It worked in '04. 2008 is Jeb's turn.
So, what's OUR plan?
