"Paging TruthIsAll" - an article - A blast from the past
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 05:48 PM by tommcintyre
While doing some research, I stumbled across the following article written on November 11th, 2004 (among the 20,000+ I found regarding TIA in just two searches).
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x391027#391171

What I find most interesting (and encouraging) is how just one poster (person) in a relatively obscure (compared to the power of the MSM) forum could have such an impact. Read carefully. This blogger gives TIA a significant part of the credit for sparking the discussion that still rages across the internet, 10 months later, with ever-growing intensity: "Did George W. Bush steal the 2004 election?"

Paging TruthIsAll

Most of the prominent left-leaning bloggers are downplaying the various and sundry allegations of election fraud in Bush v. Kerry -- perhaps nervous that lending credence to any "fringe" tall tales may hurt their ability to garner more mainstream credibility.

But now with even MSGOP commentators such as Craig Olbermann turning their attention to a few of the more glaring irregularities of Election 2004, the ground is belatedly swelling under the storyline (far too belatedly to make a difference, but it beats flatlining).

One particularly catchy synopsis of these disparate charges is making the rounds via smaller blogs and email, mostly unattributed to any source. A bit of googling by the 'Union' led quickly to this item at Truthout, which attributes the message (below) to a pseudonymous poster at Democratic Underground called "TruthIsAll":

To believe that Bush won the election, you must also believe:

That the exit polls were wrong;

That Zogby's 5pm election day calls for Kerry winning Ohio and Florida were wrong (he was exactly right in his 2000 final poll);

That Harris' last-minute polling for Kerry was wrong (he was exactly right in his 2000 final poll);

That incumbent rule #1 - undecideds break for the challenger - was wrong;

That the 50% rule - an incumbent doesn't do better than his final polling - was wrong;

That the approval rating rule - an incumbent with less than 50% approval will most likely lose the election - was wrong;

That it was just a coincidence that the exit polls were correct where there was a paper trail and incorrect (+5% for Bush) where there was no paper trail;

That the surge in new young voters had no positive effect for Kerry;

That Kerry did worse than Gore against an opponent who lost the support of scores of Republican newspapers who were for Bush in 2000;

That voting machines made by Republicans with no paper trail and with no software publication, which have been proven by thousands of computer scientists to be vulnerable in scores of ways, were not tampered with in this election.

Gulp... Well put, TruthIsAll; you should take a bow. Our comments section is open if you're reading this, or anyone knows more about TIA.
<more>

So, wherever you are, take a bow.

THANK YOU TIA

<Hint to posters: Do NOT ask where TIA is, etc. in this thread (and especially DON'T answer this question), it you want this tribute/thank you thread to have any chance of surviving. Thank you for your cooperation.>
-------------------

One of the most important reasons I made this post, was to demonstrate just how much power for positive change one individual still has. You never know if something YOU write today, will spark the change that will return our country (and our world) to the people.

peace

121. FULL Text of "37! Things You'd Have to Believe To Believe Bush Won"
To believe that Bush won the 2004 election, you must also believe:

1. That the exit polls were WRONG...

2. That Zogby's 5pm election day calls for Kerry winning Ohio and Florida and New Mexico and Iowa were WRONG.
He was exactly RIGHT (within 1%) in his final 2000 poll.

3. That Harris's election day polling calling it for Kerry was WRONG.
He was exactly RIGHT (even closer than Zogby) in 2000.

4. That Incumbent Rule I (undecideds break for the challenger) was WRONG.

5. That Incumbent Rule II (an incumbent never exceeds his final polling) was WRONG.

6. That Incumbent Rule III (an incumbent under 50% job approval will most likely lose) was WRONG.

7. That Greg Palast was WRONG when he said that prior to the election, that one million votes were stolen from Kerry.
Palast was the ONLY reporter to break the story that 90,000 blacks in Florida were illegally disenfranchised in 2000.

8. That it was just a COINCIDENCE that the exit polls were ACCURATE in states where there WAS a PAPER TRAIL and WRONG (heavily in favor of Bush) where there was NO VOTER VERIFIED PAPER TRAIL.

9. That the surge in new young voters had NO positive effect for Kerry.

10. That Bush BEAT 99-1 pre-election polling odds and 10,000,000-1 post-election exit poll odds in winning the election.

11. That Kerry did WORSE than Gore against an opponent who LOST the support of SCORES of Republican newspapers who were for Bush in 2000.

12. That Bush did better than an 18 national poll average which showed him tied with Kerry at 47. In other words, Bush got 80% of the undecided vote to end up with a 51-48 majority - when ALL professional pollsters agree that the undecided vote ALWAYS goes to the challenger.

13. That voting machines manufactured and programmed by Republicans without a no paper trail and no software publication, and which have been proven by thousands of computer scientists to be vulnerable in scores of ways, were NOT tampered with in this election.

14. That people who voted for Bush were not anxious to speak to exit pollsters in the states that Bush had to win (like Florida and Ohio) where the exit polls were off, but wanted to be polled in states that he had sewn up (like Arizona, Louisiana and Arkansas) where the exit polls were exactly correct.

15. That Democrats who voted for Kerry were very anxious to be exit-polled, especially in Florida and Ohio. That accounts for the discrepancy between the exit polls and the actual votes in these two critical states.

16. That women were much more likely to be polled early in the day in Florida and Ohio. That is another reason why the exit polls were wrong in those states. In those states in which the exit polls were correct to within one percent, women did not come out early.

17. That the University of Pennsylvania Professor (trained at MIT) who calculated the probability of Bush gaining votes beyond the exit polling margin of error as ONE out of 250 million, does not have any credibility.

18. That network newscasters who claim that those who consider the possibility of fraud are just wild conspiracy theorists do not have an agenda.

19. That it is just a coincidence that only since the 2000 presidential election have exit polls failed to agree with the actual vote - and that Bush won both disputed elections.

20. That exit polls are not to be trusted in the United States, even though they are used throughout the world to monitor elections for fraud.

21. That even though more votes were cast than there were eligible voters in precincts of the critical states, it is not an important enough an issue to be covered in the media.

22. That the absence of a paper ballot trail for touch screen computers does not encourage fraud, even though they have been proven by hundreds of computer experts to be highly vulnerable to fraudulent attack.

23. That statistical tests which indicate a high probability of fraud are just conspiratorial junk science.

24. That Bush voters were more reluctant than Democrats to speak to exit pollsters due to the fact that it was raining in the East.

25. That Mitofsky, with 25 years of experience, has lost his exit polling touch.

26. That by disputing the Ukrainian elections, the Bush administration would base its case on the accuracy of U.S. sponsored exit polling, while at the same time ignoring exit polls in the U.S. presidential election, which the media reported Kerry was winning handily.

27. That Bush’s vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentage in FL by 4%. Based on 2846 individuals exit polled, the polling margin of error was 1.84%.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 1667.

28. That Bush’s vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentage in OH by 3%. Based on 1963 individuals exit polled, the polling margin of error was 2.21%.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 333.

29. That Bush’s vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentages in 42 of 50 states - INCLUDING ALL 22 STATES IN THE EASTERN TIME ZONE.
The odds of 42 out of 50 states deviating to Bush: 1 in 1.7 million.

30. That Bush’s vote tallies could exceed the margin of error in 17 states. Not one state vote tally exceeded the MOE for Kerry.
The odds: 1 in 300 trillion.

31 That Bush’s vote tallies could exceed his exit poll by at least 2% in 22 states.
The probability: as close to ZERO as you can get.

32. That of 88 documented touch screen incidents, 86 voters would see their vote for Kerry come up Bush - and only TWO from Bush to Kerry.
The probability: as close to ZERO as you can get.

33. That Kerry would win the National Exit Poll of 13,047 (1.0% margin of error) (based on Party-ID weighting) by 50.9% to 47.1% and Bush would win with 50.73% of the vote.
The odds: 1 in 2 trillion.

34. That Kerry would win the 21 million new voters by 3-2 over Bush (59%-39%) and still lose.

35. That Kerry would win in every calculation of the votes based on the following weighted National Exit Poll categories:

............ Bush.....Kerry.......Nader

GENDER...... 48.22% 50.78% 1.00%
EDUCATION..48.05% 50.21% 1.17%
INCOME...... 48.12% 51.42% 0.95%
RACE......... 47.86% 50.94% 1.00%
AGE........... 48.17% 50.53% 1.00%
PARTY-ID... 47.77% 50.69% 0.92%

IDEOLOGY... 48.15% 49.85% 1.00%
RELIGION.... 47.90% 50.85% 1.18%
MILITARY.... 47.62% 51.20% 1.00%
DECIDED..... 47.95% 51.23% 0.54%
ISSUES...... 47.92% 50.80% 1.28%
REGION...... 47.95% 50.53% 1.00%
VOTED 2000. 47.09% 50.90% 1.19%

AVERAGE..... 47.91% 50.76% 1.02%

36. That 99% of 50,000 reported voting machine anomalies, glitches and other incidents favored Bush, but it was all just a big coincidence.

37. That the USCountVotes.org document, signed by Dr. Freeman and 10 other Mathematics/Statistics Professors and researchers from major universities around the country, which concludes that the exit polls were right and the vote counts were wrong, should be discounted as just another conspiracy theory.

3. TIA certainly deserves our appreciation. Recommended.
There are a lot of other election-related issues too - as just one intriguing example, how about those stickers on the Kerry ballots in Ohio? That's solid evidence for fraud and deserves more investigation. Here's a current Du thread on this:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x390901
Thread title: about those white stickers......

And there's so much more. The surge in young new voters, mentioned in TIA's post in the OP, is very signficant. I suspect that not only was there electronic fraud on voting day, but there was more secret, illegal purging than is realized. The whitewashing official DNC "report" on the Ohio Election - which concluded that there was no evidence for widespread fraud! - did not adequatedly address this - or anything else.

TIA has helped alert us all to the massive fraud of the 2004 election.

Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 08:21 PM by BeFree
And TIA provided me with many facts as I came to that belief.

In fact, TIA's facts have been used time and again as the basis for my arguments when discussing the election, and I will continue to my dying day to use his facts.

TIA can not be thanked enough for his endeavors, probably moreso than anyone else here. But a big round of thanks goes out to all here, for yall have kept me from going completely insane. Ha!

Peace.

TIA owns Diebold, TIA owns the sackless MSM, TIA owns all of the traitors who helped steal the election.

I especially like this one:

"That it was just a coincidence that the exit polls were correct where there was a paper trail and incorrect (+5% for Bush) where there was no paper trail;"

TIA has provided us with sooo many dots concerning the numbers in this election, you'd have to be a total bushbot to be unable to connect them all together and spell the word "FRAUD".

Thanks for all that you do TIA!

46. TIA restored my sanity in those early days after the theft in 2004.
I stumbled onto DU in my search for some kind of intelligent explanation of what I had witnessed on election night while the numbers were blatantly reversed. You could see on the faces of the anchormen--Brokaw, Jennings, Rather--that they were all deeply ashamed and upset, but they lacked the courage to address it.

I found DU's election results forum and TIA and I never left.

65. Let me be a Devils advocate here
I recommended the article and truthfully think the election was stolen however we should look at both sides of any argument. Some things to take into consideration as to why Bush might have actually won are:

1. Bush was leading in the polls even Zogby and Harris's polls however they picked Kerry based on movement NOT on their actual poll numbers. Bush was leading in the polls in Ohio but the trend was toward Kerry and Zogby predicted the swing would be enough but perhaps it was not.

2. We were at war and people are very nervous about changing horses at such a time even when a president is unpopular. Most people thought Bush would handle Iraq better than Kerry. (Stupid people)

3. The Usama bin Laden video may have had an impact

4. Bush did very well in Red states and even increased his margin of victory in some red states.

5. My sister who has never voted Republican in her life voted for Bush based on "Security" and now she wishes she had not.

I think the election was stolen based on the exit polling and because the computers were so far off from the exit polls and the paper trail machines were right on. The probability of the happening was astronomical! Bush stole the election in my opinion.

76. Yeah, the Bush campaign pulled out all the stops
played the Osama card, played the "we're at war" card, played the "freedom and security" card, the "support the troops" card.

Too bad they never actually got around to capturing Osama, taking the war seriously, protecting our freedom and security, or supporting the troops.

78. Quixote1818, you forgot about Karl Rove's "invisible" get-out-the-vote
campaign! Although the Democratic grass roots movement to oust the Bush Cartel blew the Republicans away in new voter registration in 2004, nearly 60/40, and the great majority of new voters voted for Kerry, and the great majority of independent voters voted for Kerry, and the great majority of former Nader voters voted for Kerry, and the Gore 2000 voters, still livid about the first stolen election--and being the ones who got all their non-voting family members, friends and co-workers (the new voters) to register and vote for the first time because "this is the most important election in our history" (high motivation)--voted overwhelmingly for Kerry, and, well, who else is there? (...Bush 2000 voters and....?), Herr Rove (known affectionately in CIA circles as "Loose Lips") explained it all to us--weren't you listening? It was their INVISIBLE votes, and the INVISIBLE ways that they convinced all those INVISIBLE voters to vote INVISIBLY for four more years of mass murder, grand larceny and Jesus, and all their INVISIBLE volunteers working INVISIBLY in unnamed churches, and all the INVISIBLY enthusiastic loyalty oath signers at Bush/Cheney events, who somehow came up with enough votes by means of those INVISIBLE vote tabulation source codes provided by the INVISIBLE hackers at Diebold and ES&S--after one million black voters were disappeared from the voting rolls--that gave Bush (or whoever is in charge) a "mandate" to go on torturing prisoners, invading other countries, doubling gas prices, and accumulating a national deficit that will haunt us for centuries.

The ghosts of the phantom votes of 2004 are even now stalking our great, great, great, great, great grandchildren, and sending icy shivers through their future bodies, as they hide in their wretched hovels and shantytowns from the horrors of the Rovian Inculcators, who, if they detect the words "stolen election" inside any American's brain, even then--even THEN, five, six generations from now--zap that errant brain tissue with INVISIBLE electronic weapons, leaving in tact the brain to finger circuitry that pushes "Bush" on touchscreen voting machines.

Sorry, Quixote1818, but your sister has a lot to answer for.

139. Programming 2+2=5 is just as easy as 2+2=4 ... he who counts the votes...
to me that trumps all other things ... combined with TIA's analysis it remains undeniable.

Without TIA I wouldn't be able to say that! :)

I appreciate your advocacy but I think any judge couldn't help but through the case out if they actually didn't have to recuse themselves for being tied up in the whole sordid affair LOL

Another way to look at TIA's effort is a needlepoint ... a blank one is just a bunch of holes to be filled:

you keep at it over a long time and suddenly it looks like a picture!

TIA is a master with the patient art of needlepoint ... obviously his needle got into somebody's eye! :)

149. "Bush was leading in the polls"
Polls were skewed because:

1. they only surveyed "likely voters" not the newly registered voters
who overwhelmingly supported Kerry

2. they surveyed people with home phones, leaving out poor people who
don't have phones (or share them) and young people who have cell phones
but no home phone

67. Thank you TIA --
We know from Social Psychology research that if a minority is going to sway the opinion of a majority they have to do TWO things:

1. State their truth forcefully.
2. State their truth repeatedly - again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

THANK YOU TIA for being a leader in our quest to re-establish democracy in the USA -

As one of the few people who profess to "understand the math", or at least correlate the general significance of any of those annoying .png graphs with the rest of the body of TIA's work, I would argue that TIA's has been the most important contribution to DU, hands down. The original and creative insights expressed by our esteemed colleague is nothing short of breathtaking and quite frankly historic in its dogged and focused pursuit of keyholes to spy on the truth we _know_ is going on behind the locked doors of government and media.

Hundreds of posters at DU have been instrumental in laying bricks in the masonry wall of truth DU has architected, but Truth Is All is by far the lead keystone-cutter. Time after time after time the overwhelming power and overall gravity of the post-november-2nd-"man date" threatened the fragile truths uncovered and shared about the events and actions on from election day 2004, but there was a master of the arch to change the unstable stack of voices speaking out the truth, into the a brilliant structure of undeniable logic and strength. Undeniable keystones to the logic of truth and deception. I can remember the TIA analysis that finally toppled me to no longer offer _any_ denial. Anyone can deny a single little arch, but when you have seen them all go up, one at a time, thread after thread, .png after .png, you _know_ there is an undeniable expression of truth present.

And to top it off, if you actually understand that computers are just as easy to program "2+2=5" as to program "2+2=4", then join me in celebrating a true prophet of our times, who seems to have fulfilled both the characteristics of uplifting a people, but also of getting scorned in their own land -- but hey, if you're not scorned, you ain't no true prophet! Congratulations TIA, you've done a magnificent job!

I'm sure I speak for many when I say thanks from the bottom of all our democratic undergrounds across the internets! Without you I'd still be seeing double. I can see clearly now and I can only hope there's a storm in the air. If nothing else your work gave many of us a heads-up to an inevitable collapse of the lies.

Your magnum opus here on DU should be considered a historic record and I urge the administrators to give that entire dataset an extra care in archiving an entire copy of the work, no matter any personal feelings! For my money, DU's existence was in retaliation to the offense of the 2000 election, and its greatest actual _success_ is the electoral vote challenge of January 6. If the election situation had somehow gone unchallenged I would believe my Social Security would now be handled by Biff down at Morgan Stanley, and that only an elected official would be allowed to decide if a person on life support would be allowed to die, and that every new white house reporter just happened to be bald, butch, and a real "top" man in his field...

Bravo for your simple summations of the underlying calculations in a form anyone, even freepers!, can admire for its obvious truth. Those really are arches of truth or reality, and the arch, of any height, of any span, of any truth, is held up by a single keystone. En masse, a great many arches can be used to construct a bridge between truth and deception so tall and so long as to defy anyone's initial imagination or hope, but when they're all laid out right there, well, your name says it best, Truth is All!

Now given the nature of my haberdasher, my tongue remains bitten beyond anything but accolades. PM me if you like metal hats!

All the best,
{B^)

125. Thank you TIA
for your tireless efforts to expose the election fraud. You convinced me, and never in any conversation since Nov. 04 have I referred to ** as the "President" -- the words will not form in my mouth. Depending on who I am talking to, ** is the man who resides in the White House, the criminal, the squatter, perpetrator of the bloodless coup of '00 & 04.

TIA - I've seen the wolves come after you in ERD; attempting to pull down your work, attempting to convince you to run to the ends of the earth retrieving bits of useless information to satisfy some inane challenge they have issued. You NEVER took the bait. You NEVER allowed them to insult you and then innocently claim that they were "just trying to understand", and you never accepted some lame 'apology' or empty professions of like-mindedness and 'peace'. I'm guessing this is the reason why we are no longer permitted to benefit from your work here on DU. ***Sighhhh***

I cannot begin to quantify the breadth and depth of my respect for you. Thank you for your determination to expose the truth, TIA.

We never agreed on much, but I could always count on TIA for a response of some sort. He wasn't the kind of guy who backed down from a fight, especially when he or his opponent was outnumbered.

The Vince Lombardi analogy might be a little overwrought, but TIA was certainly the John McEnroe of DU.

171. A few words about TIA's banning
I know we're all disappointed that TIA is no longer going to be posting at DU, but I would encourage those of you who are pissed off about his banning to direct your comments to TIA himself. He made the decision to ignore repeated Admin warnings, and we see no reason why he should not be held accountable for his behavior just like anyone else who posts on DU.

To those of you who would suggest that we should give him a second chance, you may not be aware that TIA was already banned once, last December, for the exact same behavior which got him banned this time - specifically, attacking new members with low post counts and repeatedly accusing others of being either conservatives or members of Free Republic. At one point we even had to pin a message to the top of the 2004ERD forum reminding people that this behavior was not acceptable:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x123856

TIA was reinstated one day after his banning, after he assured us that the behavior would not continue. He did not follow through on that promise. Even so, we gave him several more chances over the last few months before it became apparent that his behavior was not going to change. This banning was not done in haste - TIA was explicitly warned of the consequences of his behavior on more than one occasion, most recently on August 15, when he received a message from Skinner which read in part, "There will be no more warnings and private messages. You can either follow the rules or not. The choice is yours, and the responsibility for the consequenses are also yours." I don't know how we can be clearer than that.

I'm really am sorry that it came to this - we have no personal animosity towards TIA at all - but it puts us in a very difficult position when a popular member of the board continually refuses to accept Admin guidance which would prevent them from being banned.

Now I'm locking this thread. If you have any further comments you may direct them to me via private message.
