Can the Anti-War Protest in DC be Made a Bit More...Generic?
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 09:23 PM by Bill Bored
OK, I admit I'm not much of a protester. I'm trying to fix our broken voting system that allowed these SOBs to start running things in the first place.

But it occurs to me that perhaps the anti-war protest later this month could morph into something else. Something bigger. A lot bigger.

A pro-people, pro-democracy, anti-war, anti-Bush, pro-disaster recovery, anti-American Genocide, pro-American demonstration of massive proportions to even include angry, embarrassed Republicans who want to take their f$%^ing party back from these extremists.

Am I dreaming or is it time to kick this thing into high gear?

We cannot let this stand.

The planning and response to Katrina is a national disgrace. I hate to say it's worse than Bush's performance pre-9/11, but this time the warnings were clear, public, unambiguous and in real time.

Anyone who has the least amount of concern for what a government should be, should be mad as hell at these people. And there are some Republicans who are mad. I saw them on the F$@!ing TeeVee!

Is there any way to organize something so huge that it can span the gamut from left to right and marginalize anyone who continues to support this regime?

Or am I a dreamer like John Lennon?

I saw a Mississippi Southern Baptist on the TeeVee tonight criticizing his President over the lack of aid. If it's not time to heal this country and throw these thugs out, when will it ever be?

6. Justice is the key word
it is impeachment, accountability and hopefully prison for most of these felons that are impersonating governmental officials.

8. YES - Resignation is direct, impeachment is indirect
The goals we set must be directly attainable by the actions WE take. When we set out to move others, such as Congressmembers, to take some action on our behalf we immediately water down our effort and dilute the amount of control we have over the outcome. Resignation is MUCH better. It goes hand in hand with challenging the legitimacy of the government's claim to power, ala, withdrawing the Consent of the Governed.

9. By now the
honest Republicans have got to be embarrassed, they were trying to cover up this piece of shit on everything since the 2004 election, but Katrina is to big, * has even lost some dedicated reporters because of Katrina, if the republicans don't put an end to the embarrassment, they will all go down with *. They need to (if necessary in secret) tell * and Chenney to resign, and that if they don't ,that the they(Republicans) will stand with the Democrats in the Impeachment proceedings.

Its the only way out for the Honest Repugs.

Thats why I think any war protest should include the electronic vote stealing machines in to them, somehow. Some one has got to have a nice catchy phrase to put the two together(because the vote stealing machines is what got our kids in to the war in the first place).

14. I agree -- and it will. We need some prominent DEMS there.
ANSWER is a fine group and they got the permit. Good for them. We need our own draw and our own venue. I'm not going for ANSWER, I'm going as a very concerned citizen.

We need a few prominent Americans, DEMS, who will show up and give it a broader "branding."

Bill, Are you going to DC or the event in your area?
