south dakota has dropped Diebold and its touchscreens.
because of just a few emails and my spreading the facts, South Dakota has decided to drop all machines and is preparing to use AutoMark ballot systems for all of its elections here forward.

here is a transcript I received from the SoS and Governor:

Mark,
Thank you for your email regarding a voter verified paper ballot. The state of South Dakota has chosen the Automark to be used in all federal elections starting in 2006. If you have any questions please let me know.

Jennifer A. Jacobson
Office of Secretary of State
HAVA Coordinator
500 East Capitol, Suite 204
Pierre, SD 57501-5070
605.773.3537 business
605.773.6580 fax

this information below was basically all I told them:

don't use diebold machines or insecure machines.

there is proven security exploits in the machines and the voter can not properly confirm their ballot is counted.

http://www.answers.com/topic/2004-u-s-presidential-election-controversy-voting-machines

there is also a guaranteed solution in automark ballots for the disabled, and there's been a study that proves they are reliable and all accurate.

http://www.votersunite.org/article.asp?id=5297

we have to have our vote counted accurately and I am standing up for an accurate vote count. with secret source code, these machines are proven faulty pieces of junk and should be nowhere near elections.

thank you for your time

it took less than three minutes....THE WHOLE STATE DROPPED THE MACHINES....!

imagine the difference we can all make if we flood the secretary of state offices with letters and call them till they are blind!!!

here's a great start for a list of secretaries of state I use

bmcdanno@ss.ca.gov; governor@utah.gov; corpucc@utah.gov; administrator@sos.state.ms.us; GMcWhorter@sos.state.ms.us; jesse@mail.osa.state.ms.us

call these guys and get to work, especially the utah secretary of state!!! their governor has been trying to force diebold down everyone's thoughts!

with the proof that recently posted at bradblog, we should be able to get diebold in check right away for violating HAVA and get every single state to reject the machines!

forget congress....many of them are in office illegally, via diebold and iVotronic tabulator. at the state level, we can force these machines out like clockwork!

and every day more and more states get out of the system, until all 50 are clean plus think about it......someone should have the ability to do a federal lawsuit now.

there's no way Diebold's software PASSED hava is there....its illegal...its up to us.

2. dems and repugs..
south dakota is almost all a red state, and they wanted a fair accurate election.

everyone should contact their secretaries of state nonstop like those above. even that guy blackwell was forced to allow "REFORM OHIO NOW" on the ballot.....to reform the ohio elections.

so you can get rid of these things quickest...by going through the governor office.

4. Sorry to burst your bubble, but
It's not so easy in every state. In fact, it was Georgia's DEM Secretary of State of brought these machines IN. She still refuses to meet with concerned citizens who wish to ask why. She is the best "marketing agent" for Diebold on the planet, selling these machines to state after state.

Her sales commission must be a guaranteed win for the Governor's Mansion next year.

5. Some of them are corrupt, but this is still as good as any...
This is still as good as any other way to get rid of machines. The secretary of state normally is who's in charge of whether the state buys, or certifies machines.
