What if you had 5 minutes with Paul Hackett? Could you convince
him his election was stolen?

I have an opportunity to see him (there is a DFA sponsored event here in Burlington)

I would only spend the money on this if I thought I could accomplish something. Getting Hackett more aware about election fraud would be worth it, especially if I could make him wonder if he really lost.

any thoughts on how it could be done? really simple, straightforward, to the point. I don't think burying him in numbers is the answer.

1. Well, I'd take a look at this and give him a copy...that would be 10-11
...so far.
http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0508/S00186.htm

There may be more data on this. If we have access, then we're in great shape.

The thing to keep in mind is that for him to (a) know that there was election fraud would be great--that is a goal; (b) for him to charge that there was, absent a real "smoking gun," is not likely because he's running for Senate and wants the focus there. I'd give him a top down on election fraud with the very best points and then I'd give him the article. He's been handed, sent many. Tell him we're citizen volunteers and we do this, not for fun, but as a service.

Now, if he has a smoking gun (which he wouldn't reveal until the right time), he'll destroy the Republicans with it at the right minute and he'll be most grateful to all the DUers who sent him stuff right after the loss.

Good luck, tell him to get on the bus!

2. I think
if he is running for senate, i agree i don't want to convince him to raise an issue publicly about his last election. but I want him to be aware that the senate race could be stolen from him, and that he should ask for a recount if there is any question.

3. That's exactly the point to make, IMHO, something he can use.
He probably knows but he's keeping his cards close. We'll know some day. With his numbers in the rural counties, where he won 60%-40%, you know he CAN win. With Ohio as it is now and Hackett's willingness to project the anger of the constituency, you know he WILL win. The guy's got it. Southwestern Ohio is where they probably stole it in 2004, where the really nasty crap took place. How ironic that this iteration, the special election, will result in them losing a senate seat (DeWine's son ran against Schmidt, who won, and couldn't beat her in the primary, he's fading big time).

Go for it, we'll do an incantation.

10. I handed Hackett's campaign manager a copy of that Scoop article at a
picnic where he failed to show in August.

office. I left my cell number and the letters also had email addresses and no one heard back from him. I think he knows but is planning on challenging Dewine for Senate, so on to bigger, better things.

It seems that Schmidt may be challenged in a primary by her own party, so her cheating win is not so secure.

I think you should meet with him however to talk about election fraud in general.

6. hahaha Schmidt challenged...what to "liberal"
God, she headed up the Right to Life movement in Cincy. These guys are f'ing insane out there. Couldn't happen to a nicer lady.

You delivered the goods, Rosebud. He knows what's what and he's not going to make waves because it looks stupid prior to a Senate campaign. He will do something if he has a clear set of proofs. If not, what you did has become part of his mind set and he'll have a solution. When he runs and slams on this issue, you'll know it was you who provided the impetus!

5. great idea gb
go for it. Since we know what we know and since we know he knows his supporters and donors have a right to know whether his campaign is developping a proactive strategy, other than hoping to win big enough to make humidity count reversal impossible.

11. Pictures!
Get a graphical representation of how the elections have been privatized and removed from public view. PM me for one.

Pictures are always best if you have limited time.

13. Just for safety's sake, next time he runs, make sure you run some parallel
elections as a check and balance. Have teams in place for this! It's cheap and easy!!
