Any plans yet for Nov 8?

Anyone building a list of online election results to monitor?

It's too big for one person -- not a simple job like OH-02 was.

Or are we all just going to talk about 2004 exclusively?

Just wondering...

1. 'Twould be nice
But I fear we will deal with it as an 'In Crisis' mode.

The e-voting machinery will screw up in places, exit-polls will once again be violated, and apparent winners will once again be sold as Losers.

On Nov. 9, this place oughtta be flooded with evidence, the least we can do is be ready. How shall we prepare?

7. Florida here
We are working on 2000/ 2004 precinct data for Florida since it can be very helpful to spot trends and discrepancies. Here is a preview:

http://www.recountflorida.com/ufed/

The database is in development and we are currently converting the reports to electronic format. It will take some time.

My suggestion toward preparedness is to litigate if possible, gather information, and support local / state organizations with the same goals.

For anyone in Florida, there will be an Election Reform conference hosted by Florida Fair Elections Coalition in Orlando November 12-13:

2. There should be people doing "data capture", not just the Simon
screen shots, but recording what's reported on the news, how that changes, early returns, etc.

3. Well, I can probably handle one state's election returns.

But I sure as heck don't have the time to do all the media in a state as well, or cover every poll's election results -- there are a good number of elections.

First step is a list of URLs -- no we don't have them, because any lists we have built from last year will have to be updated given the churn of the web these days.

4. Lets do a 2005 Election Evaluation Thread...here.
BFree, I apologize to you. I thought I sent a message on the VA race in reply to your thoughtful request and I had a brain something. But lets do it.

I'm in VA. I can get results, polls, and equipment information on Virginia.

Why doesn't somebody start it now and I'll have stuff up preliminary and then on 11/9. This is a great idea. Maybe we can even get some stats done.

I'm a precinct Captain in Virginia (a drop from my former title of Maximum Leader, Rankland). We have lousy machines where, the old Shoopomatics or whatever they're called (sucessor company in TX). Even the Repiulicans hate them.

How about this:

Subj: Elections 2005 - Research, Discussion, Action

and then a post for each state--VA, NJ, CA, etc. with users instructed to post information on each state under that post.

Anyway, in the future, please address me as "Captain."

5. Elaboration of the idea...synergy w/other DU forums.
I'll be glad to post messages in GD and GD Politics before and after the election soliciting comments once the ER thread is up...questions, odd results, equipment problems.

There are a ton of folks there who are real supporters of election integrity and knowledgable about election fraud who rarely come here any more.

9. Hey, Cap
No reason to apologize, you did send a message. You're ok. lol

Some ideas:

Which states are holding elections next Tuesday?

I'd say statewide offices are the most important and maybe all we can handle - Govs. SOS, etc.

Probably the best way would be to hit the state forums with requests for info. If we get a few hooked we will enlist some new people into the movement.

If the OP in each state forum had a big name DU'er on top and signed by more than a few from here, it may just hook 'em.

The OP might read somthing like this:

Your state of(__________) is holding elections next Tuesday. The folks in the Election Reform Forum need input from you about:
How the vote was counted
What the exit-polls say about the outcome
What do the pre-election polls say
The final outcome
etc.

You would report your findings in your state forum and it will be refined in the ERF.

Then folks in the Election Reform Forum will try to do an analysis of your state if enough info is provided.

====================================END

Who's the big name DU'er gonna be? The Magistrate? Will Pitt? Autorank? The NAME has only to post the OP in each forum, not be a part of the rest, we grunts can do the rest of the work. Anybody got a friend who's a big name on DU?
