My Response to Pelosi's solicitation for DCCC contributions.
When I get a request for funds for Dem causes, I usually write a response indicating that I'm saving my money for causes that are working to restore democracy in America by resisting the further privatization of the vote and the fraud that follows. This may not be everybody's approach, but if these campaign solicitors get enough letter like this in response to their requests, maybe somebody will listen. I'm sure Pelosi will not read my letter but at least it makes me feel that I'm doing something constructive.

ATTN: Nancy Pelosi
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
PO Box 96039
Washington DC 20077-7243

Dear Nancy,

I appreciate your concern about the direction the country has taken since we have lost our democracy, and I too would like to see Democrats returned to power and the Republicans held accountable for what they’ve done. However, you and other leaders of the party need to be held accountable as well. For the past ten years, highly partisan private companies, using secret, proprietary software, have been allowed to count our votes, in nearly every case without auditing or meaningful oversight, resulting in almost certain fraud (witness the 96 election of Hagel in NE; the 02 “amazing” upsets in GA, MN, and CO; the 04 national race; the 05 initiatives referendum in OH), and yet almost no Democrats have even raised their voices in protest. Some have been complicit, taking money from the companies, even voicing the company mantras (that elections without a paper trail for audits and recounts are cleaner and more cost effective than elections held entirely in cyberspace). This is not a conspiracy theory: this is fact.
In your letter, you say that “we Democrats need to help each other!” I am all for that, but there are more ways to help than with monetary contributions. Until the obvious electoral fraud taking place in America right now is, first, recognized to be fraud and, then, prevented by law and by solid, unified opposition by the national party and by those with national exposure, all the money in the world will not bring Democratic victories. In fact, where the elections are decided by machine, as is the case in American today, to contribute any money, is worse than useless: it actually “enables” those who are drunk on their own rhetoric and refuse to look at where the problem lies. I give you something much more valuable than money: I give you the knowledge which, if applied, would bring victory for Democrats everywhere in the country and immediately. Here’s all you have to do: REQUIRE A VOTER VERIFIED PAPER BALLOT AND TRULY RANDOM AUDITS FOR ALL ELECTIONS WHERE ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES ARE USED.
Armed with that knowledge, you can go forth and conquer. I wish you well. Right now, there is probably not a computer scientist in the country who does not agree that these machines are highly vulnerable to fraudulent programming (notice I said “scientist” and not “expert”), there are Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalists who have laid out the probable dimensions of the fraud, there are PhDs in many fields, especially in statistics (see www.ElectionArchive.com) who have added their voices, there are by now tens of thousands of activists throughout the country working hard to restore American democracy. I am presently contributing money to some worthy organizations which are truly working to restore American democracy. I hope and pray the Democratic Party will join in that cause. When they do, I will gladly contribute money.

Sincerely, XXXX

1. That is great. I laughed my way through your letter (in a very good way).
I'd love to see the look on her face as she's reading it.

Now, she may be one of the good guys (generally), but I certainly agree that she and her collegues have done damn little to protect our interests in the last few years. In fact, the guy who's done the most for dems is Howard Dean.

I still donate to the DNC, despite my desire to hear regular discussions about election matters. My view is that the election fraud awareness "movement" is itself a grassroots effort. As it grows, more force will be behind those who represent us.

We can't dismiss the power behind those who actually do wish to make voting systems their own personal ballot box. I suspect there is some danger (political and other) and it will take time for some to rally in the cause. If we have their backs it will help in the process.

Of course, as The Republican Party that has perfected the art of election rigging begins to fall apart from the weight of it's corruption made clear in trials and investigations, that too will make it a fine base from which to work regarding the scope of election fraud.

I admire your stand, Stevepol. I would also like to posit an alternate method: Donate to worthy candidates and inform them of your intention to cut off future donations should they not take up the issue of election fraud.

5. I get letters from DNC, DFA, .... all the time, and I always
I always send the envelope back with no check inside and instead a letter that tells them I can't contribute to the Democrats until they make election reform a top priority. I tell them it's a waste of money to contribute when the elections are rigged. I have a letter already written so it only takes me a few seconds to do it. I also include a fact sheet on electronic voting. We should all do this. Money (or lack of it) talks.

9. My only complaint - it's only one paragraph!
Producing a huge block of type like that will make sure that no one ever reads it. Carriage returns, please! And a blank line between the paragraphs!
