1. Rig a (small) local election somewhere and then expose that it was done.
And how.

3. dangerous and bad idea
just for one example, manipulating the results of an election in Texas is a first degree FELONY. It is the equivalent of murder under the law, and there is no de minimis exception.

5. Already happened
Someplace in Pennsylvania had a rigged election and it was uncovered. The pukes snuffed the story.

Recently another local election was found to be rigged, story came out, but it, too, was snuffed.

Both items were seen here on DU.

Maybe if we can catch one in Texas, somebody would finally swing? lol

There is enough evidence available that any journalist worth two-cents could use to ride high on the national scene, but maybe they are too afraid of being snuffed?

8. Cumberland. Correct?
And I came across two more.

In one case, the republican was the real winner. All three were ES&S OpScan. All three were due to improper Ballot Definition Settings.

Hardly got much attention here.

The story has a few problems.

1. It's about ES&S, so it doesn't grab headlines like Diebold.

2. It's about OpScan, and people hesitate to trash them fearing DRE's. (Ironically, the same vulnerability exists with Touchscreen but it would be harder to detect and probably impossible to recount.)

3. It involves straight-party voting, and is a bit complicated to explain in detail.

4. No proof of fraud that I'm aware of. (In the Cumberland case, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an honest error.)

What's cool about it...

1. Paper ballots saved the day.

2. It's bi-partisan

3. You don't have to say fraud (and freak the timid), you can say vulnerable to mishap.

4. In at least the Cumberland case, the settings were made by the vendor. So the "outsourcing of elections" issue can also be highlighted.

10. We'll never know...
....if they were honest mistakes or intentional corruption. But it doesn't matter. The cases proved the inherent vulnerabilities and weaknesses of electronic tabulations. Proof enough for any honest election officials to trash any such system, or, at the very least require full audits of every vote cast. As in "Make Every Vote Count".

Of course the only way an audit can occur is to have Paper Ballots, and we would have never even heard of these cases if there was no paper to audit. So Opscans are at least a step in the right direction.

What we now must do, imo, is to create a citizen audit program which checks the paper record against the electronic output. We will be fought by dis-honest election officials in such a quest, but any honest official should welcome any such citizen involvement, eh?

2. Honest Dems and Repugs in the Government
have to stop the SILENCE. Then the Honest Dems and Repugs leaders have to span out across the nation to every major city and take it to the people in order to get around the SILENCE in the media. Not just one or two many of them in one day at the same time TAKE IT TO THE PEOPLE.

4. here are some ideas for you
1) befriend a lawyer and file a lawsuit in your state charging the electronic voting machines are unconstitutional. the law is behind you because vote counting must be observable and it is not.

2) start talking to your secratary of state office and ask them why they haven't decertified Diebold machines yet (other states have, because of the Hursti hack, which showed they violate standards established in 2002).

3) give everyone you know a copy of this free CDROM
http://www.solarbus.org/election/cd/

4) find a famous person like Michael Moore, Jon Stewart, Al Franken, etc... who is willing to discuss this in a public forum. Our cause is missing a public figure spokesperson and we desparately need one. Mark Crispin Miller is doing a fine job right now, being the most famous person willing to talk about it in public, but I think even he would agree, we need more spokespeople, who are already household names.

9. The War On Election Fraud - Electronic Digital?
You can not PROVE one way or the other.
You Can Not VALIDATE ELECTRONICS
you Can Not VALIDATE DIGITIZED DATA

CATCH 22

Fight this at the local level or YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC

1. REMOVE ELECTRICITY
2. STOP DIGITIZING DATA
3. STOP TRANSMITTING DIGITIZED DATA ACROSS NETWORKS

13. Ask Eminem to produce "In the time of chimpanzees Bush was a monkey"
Or Kanye West

Of course bleever did a great job but a professional studio and the name recognition of eminem or Kanye, maybe with a hip hop treatment could spread like wildfire

http://bushcheated04.cf.huffingtonpost.com/

In the time of chimpanzees Bush was a monkey,
Butane in Rove’s veins as he ran the junkie.
Newscasters lying while we tube feed the vegetables,
Dog food dinners for the grannies stealin’ Tylenol.
Kill all your brain cells and put it in neutral,
Iraq is flamin’ with the loser and the cruise control.
Babies in Gitmo is how Rummy plays D,
Gamble with democracy, try to kill diplomacy.

Someone came sayin’ I’m insane to complain
About a looted treasury and a stain on my country.
Can’t believe what they want us to breathe,
You get a lungful of mercury and a moron in the lead.
(Medicare, cut it)

So you change some votes with a few keystrokes
Doin’ cages in Florida, and lines in Ohio.

George says he’s emperor
But he’s a cheater baby
He stole the election (fascism meltdown)
George says he’s emperor
But he’s a loser baby
So why not impeach him.

Forces of evil in a bozo nightmare,
Playing all the rubes with a phony echo chamber.
One is a weasel as the others sport the flag;
A mother alone gets her son back in a bag

With the rerun wars from Mr. Cocaine nose job,
The devious bullshit of a race war flip flop
A GI hung himself with a guitar string;
A slab of cannon fodder and he’s hanging so he doesn’t sing.

I can’t write if you can’t relate,
Trade the cash for a gay bash for the body for the hate.
And this time it’s a piece of crack
We’ve fallen for the bad times, we’re choking on the nightmares.

George says he’s emperor
But he’s a cheater baby
He stole the election (fascism meltdown)
George says he’s emperor
But he’s a loser baby
So why not impeach him.

“If this were a dictatorship it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator.”

George says he’s emperor
But he’s a cheater baby
He stole the election. (I can’t believe this)
George says he’s emperor
But he’s a loser baby
So why not impeach him.

George says he’s emperor
We’re all losing baby
So we’ve got to change it (Sprechen sie Deuthsche baby?).
George says he’s emperor
We’re all losing baby
So we’ve got to change it. (Or there’ll be nothin’ to be sayin’).

George says he’s emperor
We’re all losing baby
So we’ve got to change it. (I can’t believe this)
George says he’s emperor
We’re all losing baby
So we’ve got to change it.
