is the League of Women Voters worth supporting? |
|
If someone wanted to do something about election reform, would this be a good way? What do you think.

some are really into making sure elections etc. are done correctly, some are just social clubs. The national organization is pretty good.

4. They blasted the CA SoS's new voter registration database for |
|
rejecting a huge percentage of eligible voters. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=419485&mesg_id=419592IMO, they're not the most outspoken or active group, but they are good.

6. If we can convince the LWV... |
|
....that we have a serious problem, the machines would be toast.
I approached a LWV person once, many years ago. She told me that I had nothing to be concerned about: the machines were great.

5. typically they have been a problem |
|
They have opposed VVPB, but they have some people trying to bring them around.
The NY LWV has been good on this issue, but nationally they refuse to support vvpb.
In North Carolina, they refuse to state a stance different than the national.
You could always join in the hopes of influencing it.
Men can join too.
