Debra Bowen on Thom Hartmann Thursday 4-27 at 11PT on election issues
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 07:57 PM by Amaryllis
Debra Bowen will be discussing voting/election issues in CA particularly, but with national implications (i.e.centralized voter reg database purges, etc.), on Thom Hartmann on Thursday, 4-27 at 11PT.

McPherson, the SOS in California, under the guise of implementing the statewide voter registration database requirement in HAVA, entered into an agreement with the Bush Administration in November 2005. Under that agreement, the state adopted a very narrow criteria for “matching” records, meaning people registering or re-registering had a difficult time. The “normal” rejection rate where a voter is found to be ineligible to register is about 1%. Under the SOS system, it was 43% in L.A. County and about 26% statewide.

5. Debra Bowen is running for Calif Sec of State against a Diebold shill
Democrat (in the primary) and Schwarzenegger appointee, Repub Diebold shill Bruce McPherson, in the fall, if she wins the Dem nomination.

She has a great platform for restoring election transparency and our right to vote. She is no shoo-in. The CA Dem Party leadership appears to be corrupt--or maybe it's just cowardly--on Diebold/ES&S issues--and Bowen is not that well known. Money and publicity in the war profiteering corporate news monopolies is not easy to come by. She's up against the entrenched power of multi-billions of dollars* --with a shilly-shallying Dem Party establishment.

A very brave woman--and a true patriot!

*(For instance, nutball winger 'christian' billionaire Howard Ahmanson, who was the initial funder of ES&S (brethren to Diebold), and also gave one million dollars to the extremist 'christian' Chalcedon Foundation--which touts the death penalty for homosexuals, among other things.)

Congressional bills:

Russ Holt's HR 550 requires a real paper ballot, bans secret software in "voting machines", and has more than 170 co-sponsors, but the audit required is too weak, it promotes electronic voting and centralized power, and the secret software might be permitted to continue in the central tabulators (the bill is not clear). 8. Something just dawned on me. It has been reported in the press
that Bush's re-election team are in California helping Arnold.

And, Arnold and Bush hate each other.

And, who WAS Junior's re-election team?

10. Marriage of Convenience. That's all.

But it was an interesting chapter recently. Bush visits, refuses to come up with $ for the levees. And Arnold swipes him.

Not so sure that wasn't staged.

11. It probably was, at least in part. But, the Grope doesn't fawn
or fall in line. Junior must hate that.

But beyond the personalities, we know the pretty much who that team was, don't we? And they have telegraphed that they are in California -- just as they telegraph most of their chicanery once you learn to read them.

12. They're not friends. They are both frontmen, though, so they
must always have something to talk about when they're forced to share the spotlight.
