Bradblog: New lawsuit seeks immediate decertification of Diebold!!
Looks like there may be a series of floods before the big tsunami of lawsuits in November. What a great time to be a lawyer!!

A press conference to announce the filing of a lawsuit in Georgia by a group of voters and organizations on behalf of all voters in the state will take place tomorrow.

The suit, according to a press release (posted in full below), calls for action that will "Immediately decertify the state’s Diebold Election System" due to the extraordinary vulnerabilities found in the system by computer scientist Harri Hursti over the last several months.

Georgia, along with the state of Maryland, was one of Diebold's original "showcase" states. They first employed their systems in 2002, and continue to use the paperless touch-screen Diebold AccuVote TS system which has been shown to be extraordinary susceptible to tampering, according to leading computer scientists, in just two minutes time with no password necessary.

A media advisory announcing a press conference tomorrow, and another describing the action being taken in detail both follow in full…

1. This bad publicity has got to have more than a few stock holders shaken in
their expensive boots. If their voting machines can not be trusted won't the public worry about their ATM machines?

4. I think it would if they knew about it.
Since the MSM has been silent about it until yesterday's CourtTV segment, I don't believe the general population (including stockholders) has any idea this is going on. There may be a few sharp ones out there, but I doubt very many.

3. That was funny.
We can talk all we want, and its good, mostly, but having lawyers plead the case in court is gonna get us what we deserve: The right to have our votes cast and counted correctly with all due confidence.

6. Maryland Dems bury their heads in the sand
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 09:47 AM by LiberalEsto
Our state Democratic party doesn't even want to hear about concerns over e-voting. I still don't understand why, unless they are covering the ass of state elections chair Linda Lamone, a Democrat, who was wined and dined by Diebold on a yacht, and authorized purchase of their machines.

Maryland Democrats will not get a penny from me until they take action to rid us of these "cheating machines."
