BEAUFORT - Carteret County's abandoned voting equipment could soon
be sold to the highest bidder on the Internet.

The Board of Commissioners agreed this week to declare the
Patriot Electronic Voting System as surplus and to try to sell it on eBay,

a popular online auction and shopping site.

"We're going to test the power of eBay," said County Manager John Langdon.
Commissioners directed Langdon to give eBay a try after learning efforts
to recoup something from the old system have sparked little success.

Be sure to get your bid in, I plan to bid at least $1.00

3. I could drive over and pick it up.
Seriously, I live pretty close to Charlotte. I wonder if Eaton County is selling theirs because they updated their stuff?

4. OMG someone from Mecklenburg County!
Hey, we need help in your neck of the woods.

YOu have the ES&S iVotronics with the toilet paper ballot.

We are trying to get the State Board of Elections to
put a small sign on the machines over the printer to
urge the voter to verify the printout.

Some poll workers put the paper in backwards on 10 machines
for the primary, and there was no paper printout.

The poll worker didn't notice,
the voters didn't notice.

That could have been several thousand votes in a busy election.

We would love to hear from folks in Meck.

6. Nope! Calhoun County.
The item is from Charlotte, Michigan, which is just one county over from me.

That sounds scary about the paper thing--how bad is that? Frankly, I'm worried about our primary coming up.
