Bev claims qui tam donation made in BBV's second fiscal year
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 03:57 PM by Kelvin Mace
which means we will see evidence of it when Bev posts the next fake 990 for 2005, sometime in 2007.

Pat Vesely is also correct that the Qui Tam donation I made to Black Box Voting was deposited in our second fiscal year. I'm not positive it was July 5, but it was around then. I don't think the separate fund is a trust, it's just a separate bank account restricted to supporting litigation. It has so far supported the following actions: Public interest litigation defense for Stephen Heller, Bruce Funk, a public records lawsuit for ballot images, and libel actions against Diebold and Diebold employee Rob Pelletier.

Hmmmm...

Interesting how she never does the obvious thing to support her story. You know, post a copy of the canceled check made out to BBV.

So, Bev has an explanation for the missing donation that sadly, won't be provable for a year or more.

Of course, none of this explains why Bev has lied about filing BBV's form 990, nor the fake one she posted on her site. She also does not explain her failure to register as a non-profit with her home state, meaning she has been illegally soliciting money for two years.

Also, she mentions a law suit against Diebold. Has anyone seen any court filings?

editl corrected typo.

8. I simply cannot figure out WHY
WHY didn't she have it done by a CPA (it's not as if there wasn't money to hire one) while claiming to have a CPA specializing in 501s on board? WHY? Would a CPA not sign off on it????

WHY did she not file it???? After 6 months of extensions, and months after the final deadline, not filed. WHY????

WHY did she not pay payroll taxes for over a year while taking in a million bucks? WHY????

Why accumulate penalties and interest to be paid out of donations from those who think they are contributing to the cause of election reform?

Why did she say she'd post documentation of the Qui Tam 'donation', but never has? Why is that?

Why didn't she register to legally solicit funds for two years?

I am just utterly stumped. Is she TRYING to discredit the movement???

She surely isn't ignorant or stupid (crazy, maybe, but that's another subject) or lacking in financing. A million dollars in donations would enable the org to obtain professional advice regarding legal compliance and proper accounting.

The great number of other election reform organizations that I have reviewed, having far less resources, comply with laws, regulations and filings.

What is wrong with BBV.org and Bev Harris? With such immense financing, why is compliance so lacking???

There has been NO explanation as to why the IRS 990 was not filed months ago as she claimed. NONE. WHY?

3. You know, if she would just turn over that

video she said was shot in Florida the day after the 2004 election -- video of her having a violent tug of war with a precinct worker over original ballot box seals and tallies that she reported as tossed in the dumpster behind the precinct -- then I'd almost be willing to let her keep all the derned money. I just want to see that video of those two wrestling over the ballots. Problem is, I now doubt it ever happened, as much of what she said/says is just not true.

I've seen it. There's a back verandah and a dumpster.

A link was posted here a while back.

4. She posted
in May of 2005, that she would post documentation of the 'donation' that very month. Wasn't done then... hasn't been done in the 15 months since.

The second fiscal year already closed last month. Nothing prohibits her from providing the 2005-2006 IRS form 990 at this time showing that donation.

But, you're right, I'm sure we won't see anything until May 15, 2007, if even then.
