We can't afford more fraudulent elections ( Velvet Revolution links)
They have cost US all dearly.
so consider....sure do the usual-phone calls, donations and of course VOTE, but then consider;
Massive Sit In at the White House Nov. 7th and 8th, Join those convening on the White House on election day and the day after - it is time we take back our First Amendment rights to peaceably gather, exercise our freedoms of speech, and to petition our government for redress of wrong.

http://velvetrevolution.us/index.php?Main=ELECTION2004

If you can't come to WDC, consider planning an action (reaction to any apparent fruad) closer to home. Even if your little precient is OK, protest in support of others-we ARE one NATION. The state's rights claims -I've read in several letters from repub congress BU**SH**ers is such :puke: .

I honestly feel so overwhelmed and frightened at times.
Election fraud has cost US so much. Hundreds of thousands have died as a result, and our environment, in so many ways is less healthy and our world more dangerous.
More people all over are, and even more will be, living and dying in a world of pain due to some horrible decisions by both our (elected?) leaders and some movers and shakers in our mainstream media.
Some folks in our MSM need to grow a conscience,and Do the right thing.

We need to Investigate,Prosecute,IMPEACH,and Punish! That will allow US move forward!

Reminders of reasons to take action;
-------------------------------------

If you haven't seen this , PLEASE view this Princeton independent study-video-
DIEBOLD AND VOTE-COUNTING FRAUD."
http://itpolicy.princeton.edu/voting/videos.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJOyz7_sk8I
I sure trust the scientist more than far right bu**sh**.
Bush dismissed that scientific study concerning the 655,000+ Iraqis that have died as a result of his war, just as glibly and stupidly as many have denied the reality of fraudulent elections in OUR country.
http://www.velvetrevolution.us/#092806 At least it is being discussed on capital hill.
---- also never forget this important DU post- check it out if you missed this one;
concerning; Diebold - Abramoff and stolen elections.

"In perhaps the biggest scandal of all, the GOP and Jack Abramoff conspired and successfully stole our democracy through extremely corrupt dealings between Abramoff, Greenberg Traurig, Convicted GOP Rep. Bob Ney of OH, the White House and.... in order to foist the hackable Diebold voting machines upon an unsuspecting and trusting public.... "

TIME LINE (some highlights)

"2001 – Ney's Chief of Staff David Distafano turns lobbyist for Diebold and at least one other voting machine company. One of DiStefano's crows about his having "an insider's edge to hard-to-reach political officials."
2002 – $3 billion HAVA bill mandating computer voting is passed in the House, shepherded by Ney, Abramoff and Delay, helping Diebold and the other companies write the legislation. Abramoff and Greenberg Traurig also use the HAVA bill to squeeze the Indian Casino Tribes to cough up more bribe money for Republicans...
2002 – Programmer Clint Curtis testified that he was asked in 2002 by GOP Rep. Tom Feeney to create vote-stealing code for voting machine, which he does. This software seemed to have been used in the 2002 stealing of Sen Max Cleland's seat in GA.
2002- Distafano and partner Coffee rewards Ney with $20,000 in campaign contributions, starting in 2002. Abramoff has Indian tribes contribute tens of thousands of dollars to Ney and pay the notorious $100,000 for the St. Andrews golf junket.
2002 – Diebold and AccuPoll start paying Distafano and partner Roy Coffee $250,000 in lobbying fees. Diebold starts paying $275,000 in lobbying fees to Greenberg Traurig, Abramoff's firm.
2003 - Ney prevents the mandating of verified paper trails for Diebold and the other companies.
2004 – ""in 2004 numerous news organizations reported that the RNC spent millions hiring a questionable company called Sproul & Associates to do voter registration. ....Thousands of voter registration applications collected from Democrats by registration workers paid for by Sproul & Associates were reported to have been destroyed ...
2004 – Ney writes "Dear Colleague" letter against amending HAVA for paper trails. .."argued at the time that paper records on such machines would somehow disenfranchise disabled voters.... mandated at least one disabled-accessable device in every voting precinct in the country. That device, of course, would be a paperless touch-screen electronic voting machine, like the ones made by Diebold,...." Ney also stops Holt's bill to reform HAVA "

.....so much more..... http://www.democraticundergroun d.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2153139

These ruthless criminals have caused unspeakable harm to our world. We need to VOTE, or DRIVE them out ASAP.

1. the video on here is wonderful too. VR report from capital hill
http://www.velvetrevolution.us/#092806
see the demo live,and some wonderful patriotic American heros!
but of course the bill- didn't go anywhere right? DAMN, how could that be, what a shame and a sham.
We have to really fight for our democracy, before we can hope to accomplish much more good in the world.

VR was there since we provided the machine to Princeton. Afterwards, Felten and Congressman Holt held a press conference which was attended by CNN, ABC, NBC, Reuters, Washington Post and others where Felten did the hack to close-up cameras. Here are some highlights.

They who know the truth (as those in the MSM) and do nothing are the enemies of our democracy.:argh:

2. How about putting something in each state forum about this?
Edited on Sat Oct-14-06 08:17 AM by jarnocan
Thanks for the votes.
If you are close enough for some folks to get to WDC, car pool, hire a bus, hop a train together, whatever, have a send off get together perhaps.
If not make a plan of action, be sure to be in touch. Whatever your precient, even if YOUR congressional candidate makes out OK, stay in touch via your state forum so if others need support, you can respond qucikly.
I'm just trying to make suggestions here. What do you think? NO cute slam dunks-don't waste your time-it's counter productive,- just contribute your ideas-on what to do IF???? (or not)
Don't get me wrong- I know many of you are very busy- working as volunteers, on top of your other jobs and responsibilities.
I'm just so shaken up, by the level of evil in this administration, and how determined they are for the people to NOT have their SAY.

Suggestion-print on orange 4 by 6 inch cards, pass around, and send to congress and or media. TELL them; because WE can't afford this bu**sh** anymore!

3. NOT "can't afford" --->>> WILL NOT ACCEPT
We never could afford even one stole election. This message would be a lot stronger by saying we WILL NOT ACCEPT another stole election. Really, even that isn't our best message because it suggests objection to the results without regard for the conditions under which the election was held. Current election conditions ensure inconclusive outcomes, providing no basis for confidence in the results reported, often leaving the public divided about who really won. We are being asked to accept results with blind trust, reported by media that can't prove what it reports because the info comes from only the government whose representatives in the elections department are not even able to scrutinize the secret software and meaningfully vouch for the info they feed to the media for mindless consumption. We Do Not Consent to elections held under these conditions.

I think we need more clarity about what our goals really are. Concerns over a stolen election are tantamount to wanting to prevent the wrong person from taking office. The real goal that we must recognize is to prevent power and authority from being bestowed upon anyone claiming an office that was not rightfully won in a legitimate election. Our elections are not legitimate, period. The opportunity we must be most prepared for is diverting the majority of public opinion, immediately following the close of polls, so that instead of the general acceptance of whatever results are reported, we have widespread understanding that the results cannot be known. Our energy should be devoted to planning actions that will lead us here. This is the place where we are then engaging in the showdown of whether or not an illegitimate (don't call it stolen) election will be accepted. If anyone wants to think in terms of what we can or cannot afford, I submit that you should consider whether we can afford not to plan for rejecting results known with certainty, even before the "election," to be illegitimate.
