i totally forgot about it until tonight, people are posting on a band forum about election fraud and i said something about how why were exit polls only wrong as of 2000. then someone posted this link, i remember something about it being wrong but i dont' remember the details.

1. Mystery Pollster is a reliable
apologist for the story that exit polls and vote tallies have drifted apart for perfectly obvious reasons. He "demystifies" the science and art of polling for those of us not capable of grasping of it!

And, all the comments at that post sound like they were written by the same person, kinda like the letters sent in to Penthouse Forum (or so I've heard).

4. It's all nonsense, or wishful thinking, or propaganda, or denial, or red herrings.
Only history will prove which it is with any kind of accuracy.

Maybe it was a miracle. Jesus' very own project for the new American century?

9. "Dear Penthouse, I was alone in the polling booth when
the most amazing thing happened...I caught fraudsters with their pants down!

My vote for Kerry switched--all on its own--to a vote for Bush. (Talk about S&M!) I initially felt violated, my trust was damaged, but as the press continued to report such things as mere "glitches", I began to relax and enjoy it.

People were talking. talk, talk, talk! Round and round they'd go...But I wanted action, and HOT ACTION!! NOW!!!

I was part of the new process. It was exciting. The unknown held such a strong pull, I could no longer resist it's hot fingers clutching at me, taking me, leading me where its forceful will decreed..."

7. Well, the Republicans always said Clinton "was not their president"
Didn't they believe it was stolen?

Do we believe that no one has been practicing election fraud on a smaller scale for the past decade or so? Maybe building up to the big show we gots g'win on now?

10. WTF indeed.
Maybe someone is formulating an answer--by committee or individually--for us as we speak?

Let us wait with bated breath...hey, by the way, :hi: there, Faye!

11. Febble and OTOH refer to the 1992 exit poll errors fairly frequently....
... they are the principle piece of evidence to discount the fact that exit polls since 2000 (or perhaps even 1998?) have been problematic.

WHat is not included in this explanation is the fact that when the polls started going awry the NEP exit pollster - Mitofsky - geared up majorly and conducted much more detailed much larger exit polls to attempt to correct the problems.

As we know this failed.

The 2002 exit poll was conducted but the results were not released on the night as it was considered flawed. There was a suggestion for a while after the second failure on the run 2000/2002 that the poll would be cancelled altogether.

Instead the NEP reformed and conducted the problematic 2004 poll.

Now Mitofsky has died and someone else is presumably at the helm of the 2006 poll.

DISCLAIMER: All this is off the top of my addled mind and Febble and OTOH will be able to correct me on the numerous errors in my above explanation.

12. I worry about the pollsters. Zogby's spokesperson is Fritz Wenzel. He is the
guy who cost the Toledo Blade a pullitizer for holding the Coingate Scandal story until after the election in '04. He is a long time GOP operative from out west. Wonder who else they infiltrated.
