Olbermann: "Six years after Bush v. Gore, the election process is a COMPUTERIZED MESS."

Post Date: 11/03/06

The day after the 2004 election, the corporate media reported that it was a "clean election." Except for one: Keith Olbermann. He covered the mysterious results that defied the exit polls, the long lines, the illegal recount, and the hearings, while all other TV news ignored it completely.

After Bush was sworn in, Keith moved on to other important subjects, and for a long time did not even mention the problems with our election system.

Since then, others in TV News (mainly Lou Dobbs) have started to cover these problems extensively, while Keith has been silent. I was starting to wonder if he gave up on the issue.

Then last night he broke through with an amazing synopsis of the problems with the machines. Don't bet on this being the last time he mentions it in the next few weeks. In fact he says this is "a number 3 story that could become a number 1 story next Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday."

This is a really good video to show to lots of people. In just a few minutes they give most of the shocking evidence, and it is on mainstream TV, which is what some people need in order to believe something is true.

7 minute video:

2. And it is. KO is right. HAVA did for voting and voters what the
"Clean Air Act" did to the environment.

4. hmmm
"Leave no Child Behind","Patriot Act", "Healthy Forests"

HAVA = Hack america's vote act. . .

"Military Commissions Act" = don't even want to imagine how obtuse this could get before it's quashed

These thugs certainly do excel at "disingenuous nomenclature." Don't they. . .?

Glad KO's not backing down.

Kidding.

I just love the aptness of that "disingenuous nomenclature" tag line though.

Shhhh. . .don't tell anyone. . .I stole it.

6th rec.

on edit-whoops-I mean 7th

Sheesh I count as accurately as those EVM's and yikes.

7. I wish 1984 was out on DVD.
It was a lonnnnng time ago that I read it but, read Animal Farm with my son when he was in high school a couple years ago. I think Karl Rove sleeps with a picture of Orwell under his pillow. Maybe they're holding back release of the DVD because they don't want to give away the "plans."

11. HAVA = Hack America's Vote Act
That's what it really means.

I am glad KO is speaking truth to power also. He's been doing it for quite some time now but in the last few months he's kicked it up a notch.

And yes, these Rethugs do excel at, as you say, "disingenuous nomenclature."

3. KO knows the truth about these machines
this is a great start for him, but to gain my full respect, KO needs to keep doing what he is doing, his recent Commentaries are Fantastic, BUT The reason this country is in trouble is because the Secret Vote Counting machines were not exposed as they should have been, our Media failed us, KO deserves leniency when the Trials begin........

Not for this report, but because, KO started to beat the drums against *co, this report on the the the e-voting machines is about 2 to 4 yrs to late, because he feels the truth is coming out about the election thefts, what ever the reason KO did this, is fine, I know he had soundbites in the past about it. I just hope he sticks to this e-voting story like glue, cause we can use all the help we can get to keep this story front and center.

Thank you, KO
Thanks Garybeck

8. earlier this week brad blog posted about the 5 states with voter
irregularities already happening and I forwarded that to Keith. Hope its all going to come out now that MSM are all doing stories on this. I recall the feverish outcries a few years ago when no one would listen.with almost 3000 dead soldiers its about time.

9. Yes, it's a COMPUTERIZED MESS.
Just as intended. The Rovians can steal an election (3 so far) then hide behind the mess they've created, feed the media their talking points, and then go HAVA victory party. It's becoming unremarkable and rather generic.

10. Right, we are talking Foley, Kerry's joke, Haggard
and all the other sex and drug stories, with them stories they have successfully, kept our eye off the prize, if we don't concentrate on the election theft machines, they will run another election theft, right past us, and on Nov 8 we will be, so far removed from what we know best, (election theft) that it will take us days to get on top of it.

ALL THESE STORIES ARE BACKGROUND NOISE, KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE!!

13. A mess, by design
After all, computers and software are among the things that *are* intelligently designed.
