Anyone have a favorite election reform resolution?
Our senate district convention is tomorrow, here in the lovely Lone Star state. I have some free hand info I'm taking with me to the resolutions committee but if anyone has some particularly good stuff, please post it here or PM me.

Thanks,
Melissa

1. 1) All primaries for ALL states should be held on the same day with............
a straight vote; NO caucuses, NO OPEN primaries. Get rid of the SUPER DELEGATES and/or the Electoral college. I'm disgusted with the MANIPULATION of our elections by the Party elite.

2. Paper ballots, hand counted.
Just that would make me so happy. :)

4. and machine verified, by central tabulation, as a control/audit.
You cannot trust hand-counting either.

I have watched people fix an election personally, by collusion of those doing the counting!

Also, someone tried to defeat me once by fixing the count in a college government election. My margin increased 20-fold on recounting!

3. uh.... ? This is an op about resolutions that become part of the state party platform
If you have any good language for resolutions, I'm happy to acquire it and pass it on.

7. Woot ! Just back from the 2nd largest convention in the nation!
We hear some folks in Californiyay beat us out for first  It's still going on, but since I was an unneeded alternate I split 'cuz I had another meeting at 3.
Here is what I learned. It is better to be in the party platform than a resolution. We Need To Educate the Platform committee folks. If your resolution is already in the platform, they allegedly ditch the resolution 'cuz your info is already there.

As to resolutions, Anyone can review the resolutions as they are coming in at the state office. I talked to the resolutions volunteer and got his contact info and he is going o keep me posted. He said the amended resolution that I did will probably get ditched in favor of the original.
More later 'cuz I have to get ready for my meeting.
Thanks to all for the assistance! :yourock:

I'm glad so many recommend HAND COUNTED PAPER BALLOTS!

Scroll down a bit (yeah the rest of it needs serious updating - coming soon)

I hope some of it helps.
