So, who is TrueVote.us?
Got the following email from them, but this organization is a new one for me.

Federal Bill Gets Majority Vote in House But That's Not Enough

More than ten thousand people from across the United States came to the TrueVote site to urge passage of a federal bill requiring a voter-verified paper record and mandatory audits. The bill, HR 5036, received 57% of the vote last Tuesday, including 16 Republicans, but needed a two-thirds majority to pass.

HR 5036 received 239 votes of support and 178 votes in opposition. The Democrats brought the bill to the House Floor in a way that did not allow amendments and therefore the bill required two-thirds support. The Democrats did not want to vote on amendments raising issues like Voter ID requirements. It is possible, but unlikely that the Democrats will allow the bill to go forward and take the risk of unfriendly amendments.

TrueVote.US, will continue to build its base especially in strategic districts nationally to support HR5036 and other efforts to restore meaningful elections.

At the federal level we will need overwhelming grass roots pressure to end touch screen voting and restore a paper-based system that allows an audit and recount of the voter's intent.

We will also push to improve HR 5036 -- TrueVote.US opposes an amendment that allowed funding for touch screen systems to get a paper add-on (an wasteful investment of tax dollars on a flawed voting system) -- and to bring the bill up for vote as soon as possible.

Help build momentum by urging people to visit TrueVote.US and write their Member of Congress.

Thank you for all of your support and efforts. Ending paperless voting would be an important step in democracy reform. There are more steps ahead. Help us build an effective national democracy movement in the United States .

Sincerely,

Kevin Zeese

1. I clicked the "about us" page.
The President of TrueVote.US is Linda M. Schade who was a founder and former Executive Director of TrueVoteMD.org.

The Executive Director of TrueVote.US is Kevin Zeese who also serves as Executive Director of TrueVoteMD.org and was also a co-founder.

2. I did that too. What I want to know about is the street cred of those folks--
--in the election integrity community.

3. Kevin Zeese & Linda Schade Were Two of the Original Seven Co-founders of VoteTrustUSA

For the historical record, the original VoteTrustUSA co-founders were (in alphabetical order):
John Gideon
Joan Krawitz
Linda Schade
Andy Stephenson
Warren Stewart
Ellen Theisen
Kevin Zeese

Very sadly, VoteTrustUSA dissolved as a separate ongoing national organization last year. It is fortunate that VerifiedVoting took VoteTrust on as a project and maintains its excellent newsletter and the incredible resource of knowledge collected at the VoteTrustUSA.org website.
