Its because people kept saying Troll in my own thread because I suggested a reason why Kerry conceded was because of A Rovian tactic late in the game.

Im just clarifying it so people when I do post something "LEGIT" People will realize it is authentic and sincere what I am posting.

27. Perhaps it was because you didn't research a right wing slur

carefully enough. The whole thing started when a Freeper uncovered a 1978 review panel convened by a bunch of rabidly anti-Kerry military guys to review his discharge, which had been an honorable one. The panel found nothing and disbanded without taking any action. The Freepers, never known for sticking to facts, ran with it as some sort of proof that Kerry's discharge 6 years earlier had been less than honorable.

You do have to realize that just before the election, these boards were deluged by a bunch of newbies who were, in fact, right wing trolls. Some people just got hypersensitive.

Personally, I think you just made the mistake of not looking deeply enough into a right wing meme and came to the wrong conclusion because of it. It's certainly not unique to you.

So take a deep breath and go on. Oh, and if you intend a life of being on the right side, better grow a thicker skin. I've got a hide like a rhino...

Everybody here goes through the same thing, newbies get grilled all the time. I have been here over 2 years but have a really low post count because I used to just lurk and get the latest breaking news.

I came to DU sometime after 9/11 because this was one of the only places where people still question authority, and I felt that there were a lot of intelligent people with insightful commentary. From the early days it was posters like Eloriel and William Pitt, that I admired, for their tenacity and willingness to investigate issues and uncover facts that the you will never see in the mainstream media.

Don't take attacks on your posts personally. You need to realize that online there is no way for people to hear your vocal intonations and things like sarcasm or emotional responses are not conveyed the same way through type.

If you like it here even if you don't agree with other people, then stay, and make sure that your voice is heard. This is still a democracy, well... This is still the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND!

A lot of the longer standing posters are very elitists and think anyone who doesn't have a thousand post is a troll. Even worse, those who don't adamantly support the idea that the election was stolen are all called trolls as well. Just keep posting and hopefully they will grow up (that's what I'm hoping).

Or just give up on DU and focus on Dailykos. They're significantly more mature over there and the discussion is of a far more serious tone.

I've been here from the beginning, just don't post unless I feel I have something compelling to say. As 'the guard' has changed, some of the newer people have really exhibited some obnoxious intolerance.

There is a strong tendency here to be suspicious of new people with low post counts, especially at this particular time. If you say something that's seen as provocative by some people, they may have the knee jerk response of assuming that you're a troll.

Of course, I haven't seen any of your other posts, so for all I know, you could actually be a troll. If your not, just stick with it, try to be a little sensitive and diplomatic in your posting, and you should be accepted as a member of this community pretty soon.
