Touch-Screen Voting Failure "Should Not Have Been Possible," Says Official

'Paper Trails' Said to Have Been Correct in Arkansas Race, but Internal Numbers Wrong; ES&S System 'Worked to Perfection' During Early Voting Period

Voting Machine Company Tasked With Auditing Own Machines to Find Cause of Failure Before November...

By all means, let's not pay attention to this report until after November.

This is a follow-up to several previous items we ran recently (here, here and here) on a number of elections in Arkansas where the outcome was reversed after the lucky discovery of mistallies on the ES&S electronic voting system which failed widely in a number of counties during local primary elections there the week before last.

Here's the latest explanation, most notable passages excerpted below, on what went wrong in Faulkner County's very low turnout election for their District 45 State Representative Democratic Primary in which voters casting ballots in the Cadron Township Constable race had their votes recorded erroneously for the Dist. 45 State Rep race instead.

1. Good lord, how hard can it be to write software to tally votes?
Even a team of rookie code-slammers could knock it off before lunchtime.

2. It's easy to do it right.
It's harder to do it in a way that you can tweak elections surreptitiously.

3. It's probably harder to write crooked code, hence the amount ES&S charged to write it.
OTOH, your ATM machine is correct to the penny every day -- if it wasn't the bank would go ballistic.

Actually, I checked this with my husband and sister years ago -- they're both computer programmers. It's not very hard at all to write software that flips a few votes here and there, so a close election can be thrown the other way and a landslide can be made to appear to be a close election.

5. Its not only about stealing elections, it is about
having the election give us the appearance that we are divided. Then we are easily controlled and manipulated by our corporate masters.

Look at all the people who continue to support SECRET VOTE COUNTS, even though SECRET VOTE COUNTS goes against their own children's best interest :)

4. What is child endangerment?
If I was to convince my child or anyone else for that matter to allow crooks to count his/her ballots IN SECRET, when I knew full well that Hand Counted Paper Ballots at the precinct, at the close of election is the most secure way to count the ballots, would I not be endangering my childs future?

I would be embarrassed if I did not fight for what is best for my children.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endangerment

Child endangerment: placing a child in a potentially harmful situation, either through negligence or misconduct.

"Even a team of rookie code-slammers could knock it off before lunchtime" you are correct. ;-)
