This film is as much a tool to ease the mainstream into the crushing realization that our government has been hijacked by the GOP -- not once but TWICE.

I found DU in my alienation after the confounding 2004 election results. I regained my strength in finding others here who felt like me. I learned of a myriad of a problems in Ohio in 2004 here, and learned about which bloggers and journalists were pushing this issue. I ultimately set out to put all of this information into a tight, watchable, funny film that would appeal beyond the normal audience -- even appeal to people who would never want to watch a documentary, especially a political one.

It has been a long road since that time. But now, after years or work and a crushing financial burden, this film is out, streaming for free since July 4th so that people can see and spread this, in hopes that we can stop the disenfranchisement this time around.

I implore each and every one of you to share this film with everyone you can think of -- people who will spread it further, people who blindly trust the news and government, and especially those who wonder if their vote counts.

IF YOUR VOTE DID NOT COUNT, WHY WOULD THE G.O.P. SPEND SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY TO KNOCK PEOPLE OFF THE VOTING ROLLS ONE BY ONE??

Thank you to this passionate, intelligent community for the support, insight, and energy that got me back on my feet after they pulled out the rug from under us.

7. Hey!

I know what you've been through. It has been a hard slow slog.

Am I correct in reading that you were, to use this word, inspired by all us crazies in this forum? That some of us played a part in getting your film together? If so, that means one hell of a lot to me, and I'm sure others here who have been hanging in and hanging out. Lawd knows Bushco would have hung us all if they thought they could have gotten away with it.

DU gave me the confidence and courage to trust my feelings, find some trails, and know there are a heck of a lot of people who would like to see what I found sifting through Ohio.

9. Wow.

You don't know how good that makes me feel. Now not that I was any great gun here, I wasn't, but the folks here who are great guns, I supported them when I could and tried to beat back the assholes who fought them. So to think that I was a bit of a helping hand to see that others could come here then move on to higher places makes for a good feeling, I think for all of us.

As you know good feelings here have been few and far between. And now we've our own ER inspired film to show others. Thank you, sir!

It felt like living in a parallel universe...especially when the Ukraine thing happened. :) I have my fingers crossed that your film will be the vehicle for the truth coming out, 'perfecting our democracy' (in the words of a famous presidential candidate).

4. Thanks for the tip!

I didn't bother checking to see if it plays okay on my computer. Instead, I opted for the MP4 download ($4.95). I'm downloading it right now, and it looks to be a 2hr process with my fairly fast DSL connection. For those with dial-up only, it seems to be also available as a DVD.

On edit: It looks to be playing okay on my computer. There's some 'jerkiness', but that's probably due to the D/L taking up computer resources (computer is "under-memoried"). The DVD is listed at $20 + s/h. That's probably the way to go.
