Why would the greens have wanted a recount in Ohio and not Kerry?
Is there any way they teamed up so the media wouldn't be all over Kerry? Even if Kerry knew he lost for sure he still should have demanded a recount(to look into fraud, etc.) UNLESS they are secretly working together........You never know.

1. Kerry conceded and has publicly done nothing regarding recounts.
He's completely disassociated from the effort.

As for what that might mean, who knows.

2. No,
the Greens are for the people, not the parties, and Nader started out as a consumer activist. What I'm wondering is if the dems are too afraid of looking like sorry loosers to be forthright about a recount.

5. I think Kerry, Nader and the Green Party had it plan to do exactly
what they are doing. I know this is another stolen election and they know it's another stolen election (the exit polls just aren't jiving with the results). They are doing it like this to sound like nice guys who just what to make sure every vote is counted so that the news media and Republicans aren't all over Kerry and themselves as just sore losers. Doing it like this, they can get info on votes and voting machine very quietly. Then, if and when they can prove fraud and that Kerry has won, some people will be in deep dodo and the selected President can take his crooks lying ass back to Texas.

7. That's giving way too much credit
to the candidate who ISN'T publicly taking the risk. I read the Green's platform and Nader's and they're not gamesmen.

3. We're sitting here assuming that someone on the K-E team is working....
last week the report we had said that K-E lawyers were sent to Ohio. Kerry has 45 million left over....

4. as a green party elected official...

i can say that i am unaware that kerry or any of his people are officially or unofficially associated with this effort. i might not be in a position to know, however...

as i suggested earlier, most of the green's recount fund came from lil people; we all know that it would have taken only a phone call or two from inside kerry central to raise the dough.

and the best we can up with is arms length distance from the recount process provides the public relations arm of the DNC plausible deniability about being sore losers?

pardon moi, but isn't ipso facto that if you can't rely on the full and unequivocal enfranchisement of the people, and the guarentee that their vote will be counted, 2006, 2008, 20010... don't really matter?

seems to me that we should all be on this whitewater raft- democracy is at stake.

10. I'm with you whalerider about the grumpy and pissy part...
But the way I see it...it don't matter WHO it is who is doing the vote recount requests. It is FOR US THE PEOPLE that I am hoping to GOD that this is happening. And I am hoping to GOD that this time somebody up there is looking and we have just a little bit more pull on this subject. The raft is big enough for a whole bunch, too!

No smiley for hooray. Don't like the bouncy one...oh well.

:0)

PS I was one of those lil people who gave money to the green effort for recount. Just in case you are wonderin. Guess I saw their tent was still standing, no matter the wind velocity!

8. "One man, one vote" ... an old Green/Libertarian concept.

Corporate America controls the media and we get manufactured news.
Corporate America now controls the voting machines and we get manufactured elections.

12. To expose the voting machines and other shenanigans by GOP
And it was two DUers who got the ball rolling -- IdaBriggs who discovered anomalies in NH, hedda-foil and her on-the-ground colleagues in NH who helped persuade Nader to ask for a recount there (after a LOT of faxes by DUers and others), helped influence the Greens and Libertarians to get involved in Ohio.

Here's some background info (I didn't keep the link for the DU frenzied fax party):
