Do We Have a Reliable Source
for the story that Karen Hughes told Shrub in early p.m. Nov 2 that he had lost? Where does this come from? I ask because I'd like to include this anecdote in a media email blast, but I don't want to do it if I can't back it up somehow.

Anyone with a clue?

Thanks, and keep up the incredible work, folks. Things are breaking our way....

"Election night, I'd been doing live election coverage for WDEV, one of the radio stations that carries my syndicated show, and, just after midnight, during the 12:20 a.m. Associated Press Radio News feed, I was startled to hear the reporter detail how Karen Hughes had earlier sat George W. Bush down to inform him that he'd lost the election. The exit polls were clear: Kerry was winning in a landslide. "Bush took the news stoically," noted the AP report."

3. wow
that's actually stronger stuff than I've heard in the past about exit polls Kerry winning in a land slide, winning North Carolina and Virginia? granted those were only early numbers, but I'm really starting to anticipate that something really might come of the Ohio recount. Exit polls can't be wrong by that much surely- it's a long long way from a Kerry landslide to a 3.5 million win for Bush.

4. This is my conspiracy theory.......
....the widespread rigging of the machines was the last resort...in the last weeks, Bush probably felt he was safe, that he'd pull out the election without fraud, so why risk getting caught on something he was going to win anyway (kinda like Nixon in '72)...but the last hours, knowing he was losing, calls were made, plans put in place, the last stand of BushCo was made. What did it matter if it failed? He was done anyway. Turns out, it went smoother than they expected.......
