Jeff Fisher Is A Nut Job
Look, I hate to say it, but this guy sounds a bit loony. He talks wildly about all these conspiracies he's unconvered, but to date I have seen no hard evidence.

And he's apparently run for Congress now and I haven't heard a thing about him until AFTER the election. And I'm a political junkie by the way.

By his own biography he does not mention one single job he's ever held. He mentions some volunteering and the like, which is commendable, but virtually nothing about his work past or much about his past at all. His campaign manager makes a throw away one sentence line about the "industry" he is currently in, but no job title, description, past experience. Nothing. What makes this guy think he's qualified to do anything? Serve in Congress? Investigate major crimes? I see no evidence of that either.

Additionally, his below posted website mentions a degree he holds. But it DOES NOT SAY WHERE FROM? WHAT COLLEGES? WHAT YEARS?

Isn't that basic resume info for someone who wants to serve in Congress? How can we verify his job, education, qualifications etc. if he just makes blanket assertions with no details to be checked?

No college or school names. No employer names. No specific job titles. Just a vague "industry" he works in currently. No past, nothing. That is pure bullshit.

What specifically makes this guy credible? Is there anything anyone can point to? Sorta like the lack of evidence Fisher has been pointing to in his nutty claims. I think this guy needs to be avoided like the plague by Dems. The vote may have been hacked, but Fisher is a nut job red herrring it appears.

Sorry folks, unless proven otherwise, Fisher is a kook. I really hope I'm wrong.

1. Well, can't say I disagree with your impression
I have the same impression myself. I can recognize the signs, as it were.

Whether or not his information has any credibility at all needs to be determined via another source, preferably a primary source. It may be true, or not, but I'm not about to believe it based on his word.

15. Think Dan Rather And Memogate... Rove Sends Bad Info To Fisher
who takes the bait.

GOP then uses any reference to his name to tait any website, activist or investigator who has mentioned him.

18. That is the method. Only they don't bother to make the tie - they just say
internet conspiracy theories and cite his. Easy peasy, all discredited.
There is only one flaw in their plan - no one believes them any more. Too many 'normal' people on the net seeing for themselves.
They are no longer the gatekeepers.

2. Olbermann
November 16, 2004 | 8:30 p.m. ET

Oh Brother, Ohio, and O'Reilly (Keith Olbermann)

SECURE UNDISCLOSED LOCATION - Keep your aluminum foil hats at the ready.

The purported linking of failed Florida congressional candidate Jeff Fisher and Ralph Nader, trumpeted on Fisher’s website, is news to Nader’s spokesman Kevin Zeese.

That’s particularly troublesome for Mr. Fisher because it is to Zeese that the connection is attributed:

“Kevin Zeese,” the Fisher site reads, “officially announced that Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader will be consulting with Jeff Fisher and Jan Schneider regarding the investigation of voter fraud and a statewide recount for the state of Florida.”

When the nose-to-the-grindstone Countdown staff (as opposed to me, vacation boy) contacted Zeese, he said it was the first he’d heard of any ‘official announcement.’ Zeese acknowledges he’d spoken to Fisher, and surmises, correctly I think, that Fisher (he lost in the Florida 16th) and Schneider (she lost in the 13th, to Katherine Harris) were trying to increase their credibility by tying their efforts to the Nader campaign. Given the pounding Nader’s gotten for four years, Zeese laughed out loud at the irony.

Fisher has been cited in many places as claiming he has firm evidence of deliberate computer-hacking in the Florida vote, and was awaiting FBI agents with whom he was to share it. Not to dismiss him or his claims, but the show’s contact with him was not encouraging. He spoke vaguely of sources and whispered a lot.

Hell, ‘Deep Throat’ from Watergate whispered a lot.

Then again, so does the guy who wanders around Columbus Circle claiming the government caused the Red Sox to win the World Series.

We’ll reserve judgment on Mr. Fisher’s claims - and keep them out of this space until and unless they have stronger legs. But the “consulting” role with Nader isn’t the case, and bodes ill for Fisher’s other assertions.

3. Does your or anyone elses opinion of him as a nutt job
make the probabilty of the theft or fraud any less likely?
Actually, it would be the nutt jobs elections that I would take advantage of, like the alleged juvenilles involved, who is going to believe them?

11. Yes it does.
He may actually believe this stuff, but as a total nut case he may may be more gullible than a normal person.

Another way to look at it is a great many Americans believe with every fiber of their being that * is an honest and sincere man, but it doesn't make it true.

12. Just because he is, in your opinion, a nutt job doesn' t mean he is wrong!
You are not the investigator working on this matter, so just wait and see what if anything comes of it. Doubt as much as you like, but stop slamming the man. It just isn't fair or necessary. imho

16. But If The Info He's Gotten Is Bogus & Fed To Him By Rove Operatives
then he's not only a nut... he endangers the investigation into e-voting and fraud.

19. You see it as a two edge sword
I see it as a win/win situation. If the info is legit, then yeah, more power to him. IF he is a nutt case, then we just say he is a nutt.

Others are investigation beyond his claims.

5. Fisher has zero credibility. Let's hope this is the last DU thread on him
until he produces some evidence. Olbermann has already shown the guy to be a blatant liar.

If Fisher had any sense, he would be able to present himself and his case in a more believable way than he has been doing.

6. I tend to agree
I have never seen a more poorly written biography. In addition I wondered about the following:

"They have been married for 17 years, and are the parents of a 5-year-old son, David and an 9-year-old, daughter, Jamie. After spending many years bringing their children to Florida to see their grandparents they settled in Wellington in 1998. Jeff believes in family first and that everyones grandparents should be an integral part of their families"

If he moved to FL in 1998, then, as per the above, his oldest would have been three years old. Spent "many years" bringing their children to FL?

I don't know, none of it gave me any confidence.

10. I agree
I think he's full of it. Just because someone ran for congress and got their ass kicked doesn't mean they aren't nuts... in fact, it's more likely that they are! You should see the kinds of candidates we have file for office around the country.

13. What's with the smear campaign?
I don't see the point for it, and it makes me suspicious of anyone jumping in to discredit him. That's a usual Rove tactic - discredit the accuser and try to destroy their reputation.

I say we let it play out. Either it pans out or it doesn't. No need to throw stones while we wait.

17. Too early to tell
I have to agree with Ducks in a Row. Currently, Jeff Fisher claims to be protecting someone. We know the danger that anyone involved might be in should a leak be imagined by the Repugs... If Jeff wants to conceal the identity of an individual he may be waiting to get some backing and insurance before he opens the floodgates of proof. I would be careful how we label him until he has a chance to speak out. Let him say what he has to say. I will be willing to read his evidence when it surfaces and see for myself before I do what this thread has done to slander him.

There is alot of crap flying around from all corners. Keep your mind open without being gullible.

Accepting the view that all history is conspiracy or all history as drift (no power elite) is to relax from seeking out facts about power and the ways of the powerful--

21. I thought the same thing
I felt it was "too easy" to find Neil and Jeb's name all over something such as the school that was at the center of the story.
Whoever planted it knew that the people would find those and run--no more questions asked. But you really just have to ask yourself-why were these things that easily accessible on a Google?
It is a setup. Thats how I feel it in my gut. Excuse my less than literate rantings today-I have the mother of all flu's,lol. I think I will die now. Y'all keep up the good work.
