"Voting results' accuracy questioned" -Capital Times; Madison WI
Here is an excerpt from an article that appeared in yesterday's Capital Times newspaper, entitled, "Voting results' accuracy questioned; democracy demands that we do so"; By P.J. Slinger

"We, as Americans, not as Democrats or Republicans or liberals or conservatives, must remain vigilant in upholding the processes that make democracy work. Open and fair voting is a bedrock principle of our country.

When the people don't control the power, the powers control the people."

1. I love that paper
I really miss it. Now I have to read the Arizona Republic. Not so much for the news, but the comic page has BOTH Doonsbury and Get Fuzzy!

5. P.J. Slinger's good, isn't he?
And he's just their sports writer.

I love this town.

2. Good article
I especially liked this part:

"Imagine if George Soros or Ted Turner or (gasp!) Michael Moore were CEO of a vote counting machine company and pledged to give a swing state to John Kerry. And say Kerry won the state despite many alleged instances of voter fraud. Would the Republicans sit idly by? I think not."

And they tell us to "get over it"?!

4. Here's another talking point:
Republicans may claim moral values, but Democrats have moral credibility

6. I love that part too!
We literally cheered to find this in the paper yesterday! :7

I called in a "sound off" to thank them for the article --if you are familiar with the paper, you know you can call in and express an opinion anonymously, and every day they print the phoned in opinions in a column called "Sound Off". (608) 252 6434

Sometimes the Republicons call in to slam articles like this one...hope PJ gets some positive feedback on this...

10. strange idea
Why don't Soros, Turner and Moore actually get together and make that proposal. They wouldn't exactly have to worry that they'd get a yes and have to fork over the money.

It would make an interesting public debate.
