Irony - SportsCenter could save the country
I was just doing my daily check of the Olbermann blog, and all of a sudden I realized that a former SportsCenter anchor is our best hope at saving the country. I just find this to be hilarious and thought we should all take our tin foil hats off for a second and just laugh.

If Olbermann didn't originally come from ESPN he would be as lazy and corrupt as the rest of the media, more importantly he wouldn't pick up on this story because he wouldn't feel like he has anything to prove. I think that if we (which I really believe we can) overthrow this coup de Rove we need to get this in the MSM and Olbermann is our only chance. Basically SportsCenter will have played a key role in American and World history...

sorry for the diatribe but laugh for a minute and get back to work DUer's!

1. One comment
I doubt that any experience would leave Keith lazy or corrupt. It's not the job. It's the lack of character in the other TV media personnel.

2. I read the other day a story on him and found out that he had a
previous stint at MSNBC....I guess before ESPN and his subbing for Greenfield on CNN before that show went down the tubes....

3. LOL I wrote Keith a while back telling him
that I only used to watch sports center cause he was on it (and trust me, being from Pittsburgh, we gave him enough Fodder... can anyone say Neil O'Donnell?) Anyway, thanks for making me laugh, and welcome to DU :hi:

10. Vanity Fair
A few months back, maybe several, Thompson had a rather unconvincing piece blasting the Denver police for a a case involving the shooting of a policeman.....illustrations by Stedman and all...

8. Not To Dis My Man,
I love Keith and what he's done for us, and how he has handled these stories. Its importance cannot be underestimated.

I do however, firmly feel the Balls that the GLIBS have had actually exceed what Olbermann has done, and that they, Nader, Cobb, Bednarik, are our best hope for saving our country right now. We have all gotten lost in the flood of daily data we see on DU, but when it comes down to it we have to remember what the biggest focus for our efforts is right now. OHIO. That's it. WE MUST get Ohio recounted. The glibs have given us that hope, and I just pray that the repubs cannot stop the count from commencing and completing in time to overturn this stolen election.

11. i agree mostly
but heres the thing, i think that until there is proof we need Olbermann keeping this somewhat in the news, it needs to be on the tip of democrats minds. Meaning that if something does break the democrats are ready to jump and aren't all completely taken off guard. Regardless of the attacks olbermann is very valuable to our cause, just having someone on MSNBC that acknowledges all these stories is soo important. He is singlehandedly giving validity to these stories and keeping them in the public eye. The greens and Libs just dont understand the media and do not know how to use it, Olbermann is best chance to make the MSM pay attention and get on the bandwagon before dec 13

12. he started off great, but went on vacation when he should have stayed on
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 11:29 PM by Action Jackson
he said Countdown woudl continue to cover the story while he was on vacation. but as far as i can tell, countdown has not covered this story at all this week. He should have cancelled his vacation to work on this.
