Kerry's Still Fighting Despite Loss
Senator Vows To Fight For Health Care, Increasing Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON -- True to his campaign song "No Surrender" by Bruce Springsteen, former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry said although he lost the race, he's not giving up the fight.

....

"You know they haven't finished counting the votes in Ohio yet, and so it is way to early to start talking about another race. But I will tell you this -- I'm far from finished fighting. I'm passionate about these issues. As I say, 50,000 votes and we'd be in a different place with a different conversation.
>>

Any ideas what 50k margin Kerry is referring to? Is it Ohio, does he know something that isn't being reported? Or is he referring to sum total of some of the states that barely went to B* (Iowa, New Mexico, etc..) ?

5. I think he gave a good interview...
He spoke well (as usuall), and seemed very serious about things. I believe he knows something, and is watching and waiting for his time... IMHO

3. I think he means that if 50,000 had not voted for Bush but voted for him
in Ohio he would be president elect. In other words he is saying he was approx 100,000 votes behind in Ohio. Alternatively he could have new numbers after all the glitches and some of the provisionals have been counted which suggest he is only 50,000 behind in Ohio, it's one of the two anyway.

4. I'm hoping they are more involved then we think
Its starting to seem like they might actually be working on this, thats what Edwards was trying to say that night. What if the Dem's are actual as smart as the repubs and they are manipulating everyone into thinking they rolled over and died, just to set them up and hit them with a full investigation before the results are final...just the hope we all share. But yeah where did that 50,000 number come from is Kerry trying to say that he thinks he got 90,000 of provisional votes or something in Ohio i just don't get it.

6. 50,000 being enough to trigger an automatic recount
or 50,000 being enough that he could have gotten the votes from the absentee and provisional ballots (I think is what was said on election night).

7. I believe it's a combination of states....
Iowa, New Mexico, and one other state I believe have a combined margin under 50,000...If flipped the combination could've changed the outcome, I'm not sure which ones but I remember hearing it somewhere.

8. This may have been the case
As he didn't specifically mention Ohio in correlation to that number.

9. I doubt it
because no other combination close states without Ohio would have been sufficient for him to get the win the best that could have happened would have been a tie which would have meant a Bush victory through Congress.

10. Why do I feel our chain is being yanked by Mr. Kerry?
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 10:30 PM by shance
Because I think it is that is why.

He's either IN or he's not.

He truly is a master flip-flopper.

Edit: desassified*

12. Why is that good? Its self-serving for his own best interest, he has had
little if any concern for anyone other than John Kerry.

He caved in while we blinked and now hes trying to do the backstroke to save a little face, but has no designs on being president.
