If this story is as big as we all believe then MSM would be all over it, normally. There has to be a BIG reason they don't want to cover it. Something this important not receiving media coverage should be news in itself. Don't give up on the search for the truth, that is what the opposition would like us to do.

We have come too far to turn back now.

Kerry on.

1. To play loosely with Charles Dickens,
the Media is an ass.

2. International media may be be our best bet

This is the piece in the Toronto star that was in a different thread. Let's all write to him- and see which other mainstream international pieces we can find written by people who are clearly not happy with the results of the election. Maybe by sending them facts, emails, story suggestions and the "inside scoop" of what is going on here - we can get them to give us the press we so desperately need. Does anyone have an international media list? Do we have a recent press release/letter with links, credible facts, verifiable info?

5. british papers
i tried sending an article to the guardian - foreign@guardian.co.uk
- and the independent - foreigneditor@independent.co.uk - both liberal papers but no response. i think i was a bit ambitious though, tried to put everything in it and too much opinion, so will try them again.

greg palast did a piece on the bbc just before the election - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/3956129.stm - but not seen him on it since, so maybe i'll try writing to them to see if they can get him back on.

french paper le monde - http://www.lemonde.fr (no english version) and german paper der spiegel - http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/ - might be worth a try. all i can find from them after the election is an item on the OSCE report - http://www.osce.org/news/show_news.php?id=4505 - which makes me think they'd be worth writing to. their preliminary report was mixed but they haven't yet done their final report.

3. Demoralized?
Frankly, yes.

I am convinced that something strange happened this election. Enough to warrant investigation.

But then I read tonight on DU that 81% of American voters think that everything is hunky-dory and want to move on with their wonderful new electronic voting systems that worked so great this election! ("And now in other breaking news....an interview with the cast of Temptation Island 14! Stay tuned for this very important story!")

WHAT IF YOU HOLD A REVOLUTION AND NOBODY COMES?

Somebody posted that old Vietnam War song "Fixin To Die Rag" and I found an MP3 of it on the 'net and was listening to it. At first it was kind of funny and inspiring, and I started thinking about the 60's and how cool all those hippies and freaks and protesters were and what an interesting time that would have been to live in, and I was kind of happy.

But then I realized all of a sudden that nobody will come to sing war protest songs in the street now or wear funny clothes or anything. Nobody is interested in that stuff anymore. We are just all sheep to the slaughter.

Nobody fucking cares. You can post all the statistics you want about the stolen election. You can hold all the meetings you want. You can even produce a letter signed by Bush outlining in detail all of the things he instructed Diebold to do to win the election for him, photocopy it, and mail it to every household in America. And you still won't be able to compete with Anna Nicole fucking Smith at the AMAs. Because 81% of America is flatline. No significant brain activity.

Yes, folks, I think I've officially hit the "depression" stage...

4. Don't lose hope, dear friends...
I shepherd a little group in our congregation--people have been sick, depressed, barely able to live their stressed lives. I have been telling them the reasons to keep hope alive, but it IS hard for them to believe when the TV is so silent.

But the trickle of evidence seems to be starting to pool into a flood. And the American public will REJOICE when they find out Kerry won, after all!! Don't forget--it really WAS a LANDSLIDE for Kerry. The world will rejoice.

6. They only polled 1,014 people.
They claim more than 2/3rds of the Democrats polled believe everything was fair. Yet, they don't say how many were democrats. Maybe they only polled 50 Democrats.

Screw the polls. Revote or recount, that's the only numbers that really matter. Like I said, dont get discouraged.

Kerry on.

8. I think I have hit the same point -
I have been in front of my computer for days now - and now I'm like riding a rollercoaster - is something gonna happen? (Besides me eating all the cookies in the house?) :)
But then I realize it's only been two weeks - which really isn't all that long if they are really trying to make a case, and that keeps me hopeful.
That and my dad keeps telling me it will be turned over. * will go down in shame he says. He's usually pretty right.
Then I think about that Redskins game - and how the Redskins won it at first, but then it was called an illegal play, and it went to the other team (I had heard if the Redskins win, the incumbent does - if not, the challenger wins)
Okay so maybe I'm a bit out there, but I'm trying to stay optimistic. :)
