We might condider buying media time (ads) in selected markets
to move forward.

We could start with the 8 hour poll tax, the partisan Sec of States and the known fraud of destroying voter registrations, etc and work up to the statistics of fraud.

1. Not a bad idea
Not a bad idea at all...

I would be willing to help contribute to something like that. The repugs did it all through the 80's and 90's to get their group together. Why can't we do the same thing?

I keep wondering about that, the liberal books talk about all that the christian coalition did to bring their message to their targted audience, why don't the dems do the same thing?!

3. The main media won't cover any of these issues
So buying air time is a great idea.

4. We need an ad with footage of people in lines in
the rain, voice over - "In America?" Sec of State says "Election went smoothly."

Cattle - Cut to Soviet era bread lines etc.

6. Maybe, but I think we need ads in Ohio in the cities where people
actually waited for hours to vote, and we need to hit the Sec. of state for the mess.

A citizen's organization for fair elections for example

9. I was thinking of this tonight
Eloriel said cable airtime is not that expensive. I'm going to propose it at K.C. meeting tonight to try at a local level.

What are the chances we could do this on a national level organized here at DU? MoveOn did it, why not? Those of us who worked for MoveOn in the final days agree that organization is not one of their better skills. So maybe this could be tossed around.

12. I tried something new today.
I just got off the phone with a LOCAL reporter whom I called to talk to about these issues. I told him that since the national media is choosing to ignore the situation, I thought perhaps we could get the local media involved. He was very willing to discuss it with me, and said if I was to send him a packet of information he would review it, but that since there have not been problems in my (unfortunately red) state, it's not really something he could address much locally.

Long story short, perhaps this would be something different for us to try: put together a presentation of some of the best links, printed out, call up our LOCAL people, and send them the packets suggesting they try to put something together and maybe even get their national affiliate involved.

It's a thought. I'm just tired of not being able to do anything to make a difference! Thoughts?

13. One thing we have to do after showing what is wrong is show them how to it
They can call and write their elected officials and demand:
The Fair election petition:
In the interests of fair elections we demand the following standards be instituted immediately for all electronic Ballot boxes and vote counting machines.

All programming instructions shall be written in open source code. That code shall at all times be available for public inspection and pass independent third party certification for accuracy and reliability. After that certification the code and all hardware shall be secured no changes shall be allowed to the code or the hardware after certification.
The vote shall only be counted after a voter verified paper record of the vote has been created and retained.

All vote records and counts shall be transferred by verifiable physical means. Any CD DVD TAPE or other transfer medium shall be labeled with the counts and a date time stamp. All records and counts shall be reviewed and verified for validity and accuracy.

No modems internet connections or telephone connections will be allowed at any stage of the vote counting process.

I am a composing / producing music.
And right now I am working on a "anti bush" song. But that does matter now..

If you would need music, I could compose something for you and give you the license to use it.

16. We should spend the money on
geting the state by state exit polls from Edison and Mitofsky before we start advertising, in my opinion. We need ~$38,000 for that project, and its important.

If we had the statistics, we could target our ads better.

Know those Mass Coupon Mailers? How bout putting together a case on a double sided ad in one of those Mass Coupon Mailers. You could even have a coupon on the bottom, Election 2004, Buy One Get One Free! Vote For Bush Once, Get a Second Vote Free!

21. It's been suggested...
That we try to nudge the electors to vote their conscience (or not vote at all) after furnishing them with the facts.

23. We've done lots of that..
at Takebackthemedia.com -- with over 50 political attack ads, one of which was one of the 14 finalists in the Bush in 30 seconds contest - our ARMY OF ONE was run 3000 times during the New Hampshire primaries on cable.. I touted it on the Joe Scarborough show MSNBC, etc..

we've also got a DVD for sale as a Premium on Buzzflash right now called "Electile Dysfunction" so we know how to produce and we deliver..

here's more on that..

Buzzflash Premium - "Electile Dysfunction" a Take Back the Media FILM!
BuzzFlash's Recommendation

"We've posted links from and collaborated with Take Back The Media before. The work they do is always visually engaging, passionate, informed, pro-democracy, and antihypocrisy, which makes it a perfect fit with BuzzFlash and our readers.

When TBTM told us of their new film on election fraud and the 2004 elections, we wanted to help get the word out because -- not having seen much more than the trailer -- knew it was something our readers would enjoy.

We'll let Take Back the Media take over:"

For instance, do you know if you have a Constitutional right to have your vote counted, or for you to vote at all?

The 2004 election is no different than its predecessors except the potential for fraud was higher than ever seen before. Our cameras focused on irregularities in Florida and other states between reported results and exit poll results. Harassment and voter intimidation was a frequent sight at polling places -- and we've got it all on film.

Our award winning team is a mix of the musical masters and film magic-makers of Peopletopeople.tv, and one of the inventors of the political Flash attack ad - not only did Micheal Stinson of Takebackthemedia.com win a Hollywood award for his animation work (which is included in the film, bringing Monty-Pythonish humor to the subject) but the combined team created one of the 14 ads chosen from 1600 entries in the MoveOn.org "Bush in 30 seconds" contest.

Plus, Micheal has been seen fighting for our rights on cable news, including MSNBC, CNN, and FOX's The O'Reilly Factor show.
In short, we deliver - and we have a lot of fun doing it along the way. We get the whole story.

***

Take Back the Media.com has been travelling for the last year (while spending over $50 thousand dollars) working on this film - just back from Florida and busy adding the animation touches to our film..

Please hop on over to Buzzflash, read all about our film and help us all get the word out as we all work to save our democracy - have an "Electile Dysfunction" house party!
