Ohio recount and fraud "rumours" mentioned in German radio

The vote fraud issue has finally reached the German mainstream media. There was a five-minute piece on WDR, a big regional broadcast station in Western Germany. I've been waiting for this.

They had a few snips with Cobb and a Kerry speaker. The attitude was neutral, neither dismissive nor supporting the "rumours".

I think we can expect further coverage of the stuff in German media. I'll keep you updated.

2. Fiancee wants to move to Germany
Hes been wanting to for quite a while, I own a bookstore and he thinks that selling American books in English would go over well there.. I keep telling him he is nuts.

Maybe its time to reevalute that theory..

4. Link?
I may have raised my son to be too skeptical of the US media. At 22, he's telling me that he won't believe anything I send him from the US, but if it gets into the German media, he'll start listening.

He has cousins in Germany he's in touch with, but if I could send him a link (even to a site in German), it would help me convince him the stuff I've been sending him is true.

5. There was a Spiegel online article a week ago

mainly featuring Greg Palast:

http://www2.onnachrichten.t-online.de/dyn/c/27/60/52/2760520.html

The radio piece is the first Non-Internet-Mainstream-Media coverage of the fraud so far, but it doesn't seem to have an online counterpart.

I'm looking forward to the discussion of the exit poll question here. Usually, the exit polls in Germany are very good. They are published at 6 pm when the election booths close, and politicians and journalists rely on them if the race is not too tight.

7. German newspapers report "irregularities" in Ohio

http://news.google.de/news?hl=de&ned=de&q=ohio

(Zeit, Stern, Spiegel)

but basically they downplay it so it looks like "just a few thousand irregular double votes" which are not able to influence the outcome. All three newspapers show the same text, not interesting enough to translate, and quite disappointing.

The German media are always *very* careful in criticizing US "inner matters". Don't expect too much from them. The British leftwing papers (Guardian, Independent, Mirror) are far more critical.
