How Ohio pulled it off
Edited on Fri Nov-19-04 02:26 AM by FormerOstrich
I posted this in lbn yesterday because I thought everyone would want to see it. I found I am speechless over something with such blatant lies...Given the title and the audacity to actual pen this, it smacks of something ugly & smug snickering from the shadows. At any rate, I was afraid in Editorials it would be overlooked. So I thought I'd post it here

How Ohio pulled it off

By J. Kenneth Blackwell

The electoral system in Ohio worked well on Nov. 2. Every eligible voter who wanted to vote had the opportunity to vote. There was no widespread fraud, and there was no disenfranchisement. A half-million more Ohioans voted than ever before with fewer errors than four years ago, a sure sign of success by any measure.

The worst propaganda rag in the world.

On edit: Now I see it is the perpetrator himself, talking.

That is some seriously weak shizzle, whitewell. You will eat these words, bitch.

6. Careful Mr. Blackwell, anything you say can be used against you in a court
of law.

7. Things he DOESN'T talk about
He says people waited 7 hours in line. That is the fault of exactly one person and his name is: J. KENNETH BLACKWELL.

He acknowledges that he KNEW turnout was going to be huge. So why did the number of voting machines actually DECREASE in Democratic areas and INCREASE in areas more likely to vote for George W. Bush.

He doesn't discuss the fact that some voters were turned away after midnight, even after they had been standing in line for HOURS.

He doesn't talk about the reports of an e-voting machine in Youngstown displaying "George W. Bush" when certain voters were trying to press the box next to "John Kerry."

He doesn't address the fact that in most counties 90% of provisional ballots are being accepted, but in Cayuhoga County (the most overwhelmingly Democratic county in Ohio), only 67% are being accepted so far.

And the most glaring omission from his glossy little report is that he tried to change the rules of provisional ballots AFTER THE FACT by trying to say that if you didn't fill in your birthday, it invalidated your ballot. Of course, he was forced to backtrack on this.

I think the fact that Blackwell has decided to write this op-ed piece in a prominent Washington newspaper simply underscores his desperate need to try to justify his actions.

8. can anyone agree
that he did A REALLY BAD JOB at trying to skew the election results?

I've said a few times in different threads. I honestly think he did horribly at trying to make his 'operation' covert in any way.

10. only reason he wrote the story was because he's guilty
you know when they hit the press and the spin is thick (like landslide, mandate, 'no widespread fraud'), something's up - everytime.

'course nobody asked why they are letting the clockrun out to certify the vote.

how many years have reports of voting machine problems been around?
(and ignored) this isn't new.

they'll get caught.
