Just PROVE It!!!
I am posting this posting by another individual separately, as I feel it deserves it's own topic, and not to be buried in 150 other posts...

-----------------------------
I have posted a call to action. It is inherently non-partisan, simple, and obvious.

It is called "Just Prove It - A National Campaign"

Alan Waldman, in the Orlando Weekly, today, reminds all of us that:

Quote - Election results are not final until electors vote on Dec. 12. There is still time to find the truth.

http://www.orlandoweekly.com/news/Story.asp?ID=4688

I am advocating a National Campaign: "Prove My Voted Was Counted, now."

For tersneness sake I reduce that to "Just Prove It"

Simple message:

American citizen, do you know if your vote was counted as you intended it to be.

American citizen, do you know that 30 % of you used a technology that has no verifiable record of how you intended to vote.

American citizen, would you put your money in a bank or use a credit card that didn't verify, penny by penny, the status of your account.

American citizen, pick up the phone and call your friends, your Congress representatives, your newspapers, your TV/radio stations, your President and ask `Prove to me my vote was counted the way I intended it to be; Just Prove it.'

Can we mobilize through the network of all other responsible blogs and organizations like MoveOn, Common Cause, etc., to broadcast that message -- "Just Prove It."

Encourage all those with skill and zeal and dedication to our Democracy to create ads, with appropriate imagery, and get them on the net. Encorage those who have the infrastructure to raise funds to do so with urgency so we can get the ads shown during 'prime time' and 'early morning radio.'

Call-email, Oprah and Larry King and Olbermann and.....and, request that they take 5 min during their program and ask those questions just once.

We an get the vote counted, verifiably, now.

We can, if we want to.

This Is Our Nation, remember; It's time we start acting like we mean it.

Thank you.

"It's about America" - the one on life support and in need of immediate, heroic, sustained treatment -- 911 ringing; whose responding?
---------------------------------------
So what about it, folks? How about we make them PROVE IT??

I don't know about y'all, but I see no reason why we can't have paper trails, except that the powers that be do not want one, because then they would not BE "the powers that be," and they KNOW it!!

Would you use an ATM that does not give you a paper reciept? ATM's have been touch-screen, and accurate, for a long time. Because there are paper reciepts to hold the bank accountable for errors. so there aren't "errors."

Would you be complacent, if, say, you used an ATM to withdraw twenty bucks, the screen showed you withdrew tweny bucks, the machine gave you twenty bucks...but actually debited your account FORTY bucks??

You'd be breathing fire, wouldn't you? So why the complacency about our votes and no paper trail? I don't get it?

1. I really like this
It's simple--makes people think--put it on bumper stickers, shirts, signs, etc.

2. That Is Why
I gave it it's own topic. I found it, buried in 150 other posts on another topic. I liked it so much I felt it deserved to be seen.

3. i dont really get it
you can never prove someone votes after the fact... a primary feature of voting is anonymous ballots....

yes, the system should be auditable.

no, I dont expect proof that I voted after the fact... that would make tracking possible

7. Yes! "Just Prove It"
Everyone seems to think that the burden of proof for fraud lies with he/she that is alleging fraud. The principle of auditing, though, as I understand it, is that those who control critical information have the responsibility to be able to prove this information is correct, and do it on demand.

This of course is universal in financial areas. But every professional database management system has the ability to create a secure audit trail, showing every last change that was made and who made it. Yet the vendors, Diebold and these other public companies that profit from our tax dollars, have not yet begun to prove that their systems are secure.

This simple fact, in and of itself, should be sufficient to invalidate this election.

"Just Prove It" indeed!
