Series of 4 BigPath Ads/Flyers on "Was My Vote Counted?" Updated
The four ads I posted here last weekend have been updated. Because of time constraints I spent less time on the copy than I'm comfortable with. A few people helped me rewrite the copy, and I'm in the process of uploading the updated versions now.

The versions shown here are reduced-size and low-resolution. The full letter-size PDFs and JPEGs can be downloaded free of charge from the BigPath home page at: http://www.bigpath.net

PLEASE NOTE: I'm also working on two alternate versions, one addressing Diebold specifically. I hope to have those posted in the next hour or so. So, if you're interested, please check back here.

If you'd like to be included on the BigPath mailing list, which will notify you whenever new content in added to the BigPath site, please send an email to signup@bigpath.net. Email addresses are never shared with any other individuals or organizations.

7. Big Path should have been hired by the DNC
for this election. His flyers are wonderful! I downloaded and used some of them on car windshields the night before the election.

I love these but I have one question for you
The pictures that you use (the people depicted), are they "real" people that have made these claims or are they stock pictures in the public domain? I ask because they would make good freeway blogs but I don't want to misrepresent any single person without giving credit if it is needed. Does that question make sense? LOL

4. They're stock images that I own and therefore model-released.
Feel free to use in any way you'd like.

3. Very nice
I might have just tweaked the text design to be a bit more readable, but it looks extremely professional. Great job!

6. here is my problem with this
The flyer clearly states that this is a non-partisian issue, but there is a link to bigpath.com and when you go to that website it looks to be partisian.

How are we going to get the Republicans to pay attention to voting problems when we can't find a way to bring this issue up without being partisian?

8. It's a tough call. I actually was much harder on the Republicans in an
earlier version, but toned it down based on suggestions from other people. But, let's be realistic: How is this not a partisan issue when the Republicans have benefited from every "irregularity"? There's nothing in this whole idea of election reform for the Republicans. It's clearly in our interest to straighten this out and make it right, not because it's a Democratic issue, but because it's an issue of fairness.

If I had my way (and I suppose I do) the ad would read more like this: "There are many indications that the Republicans may well have stolen the last two presidential elections... It's in their interest not to reform the process."

I'm open to suggestions. But, how do you make a clearly partisan issue anything other than that? In don't like that it's "us" vs. "them" but I didn't make up the rules.

10. It is a non-partisan issue --
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 03:20 PM by Eloriel
in the sense that all Americans (We the People) DO have an important even urgent interest in free and fair elections, having our votes count, verifiable audits and results from the confarned machines, etc. Sooner or later, some Republican somewhere (or really, bunches of them) are going to want to vote the bastards out.

It's also a non-partisan issue because, sadly, Democrats have been known to engage in vote fraud as well (tho I think they do considerably less of it, personally). And because Republican rank and file fear that Democrats are engaging in it to a considerable level (tho IMO unrealistically so).

IOW, even most Republicans can see that these issues are, or someday will be, in their best interests.

Edited: I wanted to add what stunning work I think you do. I have you listed under Activism in my Compendium (probably Thread #1) and will add this thread to the next update --

11. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you
Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 01:59 PM by neohippie
It's just that I think in order for the black box voting, e-voting irregularities issue to get off the ground, it needs to be a problem, not related to overturning the election or towards fraud in general.

I think in order for the general public to accept this issue, it needs to be seen under a different light. Instead of just sour grapes, or denial by the dems. If we don't get this issue resolved now, just like in 2000, the sheeple are going to think that it is has been resolved, and then we may not be able to win elections in the future.

12. I LOVE BIGPATH! here's what I do with it
I have file folders of each different one (maybe fifty in a pack) when I meet people who are truly interested, I spread them out and say: hey, take your pick. Which one of these do you think will be most effective in your community. (Met a poet at Borders who was selling a self-published book of poems, I said: Could I trade you for some flyers? Then we sat there on the floor of borders with them spread all over the floor. At kinkos this is a VERY Effective strategy. (since the text of my flyer includes a link to bigpath, people can just immediately start creating their conspiracy theorist propaganda on the spot).

i don't try to argue with anyone who is still in denial. There's no point. It's a waste of time. I target the believers and it has been an absolutely awesome, real world on the street experience.

Thank you PAul! These ads are great and highly effective.
