Exit Polls To Be Delayed In Future Elections
The consortium of news organizations that runs the election exit polls has voted to delay distributing data for several hours on future election days. Exit poll data will not be distributed until after 4:00PM ET..... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6523649/

1. Sounds like they're perfecting their plan...
to dominate the US. No more pesky exit polls to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election. :nuke:

3. I feared worse
I feared they just would stop doing them, or at the very least not release any until after the polls closed.

4. Nah, they just need to hold them back long enought to adjust
them to the reality of the vote.

They just want to be sure that the exit polls actually match the final outcome...but, wait, then why bother with exit polls? hmmm...

6. Good polls?
For 6months most of us on here bemoaned the polls. I for one stated on numerous occasions how the polls meant nothing and that the only thing that matters was the results on election day. So now suddenly we have all this faith in polls because one set of them bolsters our belief. Not me. i may be alot of things but a hypocrite is not one of them. I have never trusted polls and doubt if i ever will

7. I think you are confusing exit polls with pre-election polls...
exit polls have been historically EXTREMELY accurate because they come from people who actually voted. In fact, they are used worldwide to confirm the validity of elections.

10. Not from what i have seen
I was just yesterday reading an article on exit poll history from 1988 on. They showed wide discrepancies . Jeeez they had Dukakis beating old man Bush by 1.5%. they got both Bill Cs relults right but were off on the spread by 4 and 7% repectively. I'll see if i can't find the article with the data. Like i said before pre-election, exit polls it doesn't matter, don't trust em

8. It seems to me that they say this every four years
we'll see if they do it that way four years from now.

9. No "For Profit" Group Should Be Exit Polling. It Should Be An Independant
non-profit group.
