Steve Freeman needs uncorrected raw data for VA and a few other states
Just got this e-mail from Dr. Freeman this morning:

>Thanks for the post the other night.

Could you post something else for me on the Democratic underground website? For my "uncorrected" dataset, I'm missing now only state, Virginia (and I'm not sure I have the latest post for NY, NJ, and NC). Could you ask your readers if any happen to have a screen shot of any of these states before the data was corrected around 1 am election night?

Thanks. I've attached the previous revision of my paper which explains what I mean by "uncorrected" dataset.<

the revised paper is here:

7. Virginia Data
The final exit poll from Virginia showed Bush leading 51 to 47. I remember very distinctly that Kerry was leading among women in Virginia and that Bush had a sizable lead among men, but that's all I can remember.

I also remember that in the middle of the day, Zogby was calling Virginia a tie based on the exit polls.

13. I agree
When the polls in Virgina had closed I immediately went to CNN's Web site to look at the exit polls. I think the margin of about 4 % is right.
I was kind of disappointed by the exit poll because I thought Virgina might have been a surprise for Kerry.

If I'm not mistaken, South Carolina's and Virginia's polls have closed at the same time. And the numbers in Virgina were a little bit better than in SC.

Thats all I remember.

11. I've searched and searched on data
from VA with no luck. At mid-afternoon I heard that the state was too close to call. I live in VA and the support I saw for Kerry was amazing. I think it was much closer than the supposed vote total would indicate.

I'll keep searching.

16. If anyone has the data for WA, I urge you to send it to him...
...as that data could be quite revealing.

We must be certain to support fully the WA State Dems when they demand a 'hand recount' for Gov and that they demand that the Pres/VP votes are checked with the Gov votes -- and it would be good, for ocntrol purposes, to check the Senate and I884 votes, as well.

It is precisely because Kerry 'won' the State and was fully expected to win, that WA State be checked. Scoop's red-shift for WA is 2.9 and that is significant.

I don't think the Republicans ever expected the Gov race to be so close. Irony would be that a hand count in WA may reveal the clues to the wide spread 'red shift' phenomenon!

Peace.
