PLEASE GO TO OHIO!!!
Everybody please try to go to Ohio and help with the recount. The Greens don't even have half of the volunteers they need to observe recounts.

Someone was talking about a demonstration-a huge demonstration during the Ohio recounts would be AWESOME! Think about it!

7. I'm in OHio, too (Athens)
I'n in OH and have volunteered with the Greens. (finding it curious that votecobb.org has been down so long.)

Athens went for Kerry 60%-30%, though a wider margin would seem more "Athens". I just tonight found that this county is top of a list of statistical anomalies (by Tim Lohrentz, Nov 11, at indybay.org) due to high provisionals and low turnout. I'm not sure about the analysis, but still I'm seeking DUers' advice on how to proceed locally.

25. Green recounter, too
I'm in Columbus area and have volunteered, too. I also find it strange that after yesterday's initial mailing list requests that we've heard nothing. I haven't been able to get on the site, either.

Odd, that.

14. As a side note, I'm hoping someone can help me ...
...get in touch with a poster on on the Late Breaking News board? She posted a very interesting blog entry about fraud in Cleveland and I don't have enough posts to be able to PM her about it.

Ideas?

(Forgot to add that the post was locked because blogs aren't considered "late breaking news..." and that's why I can't just post a message in the thread ...)

23. here ya go
http://blog.democrats.com/node/812

"Attached is my recently completed precinct by precinct analysis of the 2004 presidential vote in Cleveland. There are wholesale shifts of scores of votes from the Kerry column to other candidates, and astonishingly low turnouts in certain precincts and entire wards. The Ohio recount will prove these numbers to be fraudulent.

I may have identified only the tip of the iceberg. I note that there are 17,741 uncounted ballots in Cuyahoga County. Kerry's margin in Cleveland was reportedly 108,659 votes with a 49.89% turnout. The rest of Cuyahoga County had a 71.95% turnout. Such a turnout in Cleveland would have given Kerry a margin of 156,705 votes, left Bush with a statewide margin of 85,007 votes, and with 248,100 votes still uncounted, nobody would be conceding Ohio.

This is a situation that demands rigorous investigation. I can imagine Michael Moore going door to door in Ward 4, Precinct F, looking for the 215 Peroutka voters, or in Ward 4, Precinct N, looking for the 163 Badnarik voters. Or going door to door in Ward 6, Precinct C, to find out why the turnout was only 7.10% - or in Ward 13, Precincts D, F, and O, to find out why the turnout was only 13.05%, 19.60%, and 21.01%, respectively."

I caught it too and bookmarked it.

12. I'm also in Ohio (columbus, franklin county)
i've already signed on with the greens to volunteer to help with the recount. I also sent a message through the green party website letting them know that people have been trying to access www.votecobb.org all day (to no avail) and a man responded to me saying that he would pass the information along.

i'll let my KE04 friends know they need to step up to help out.

if DU has any other advice for someone in Columbus, Ohio, please let me know.

15. the email for holly hart (who is coordinating green volunteers) is
holly@votecobb.org

the site is overwhelmed or hacked (like bev's and the woman in nevada)
be careful

i can get information to holly if there's a problem - they need LOTS more volunteers - my best guess is that the period between dec 6-12 is when this will happen or at least get started - this is important

21. Is it at all possible
that the reason votecobb.org has been down ALL day (and it still don't load for me) is because they were trying to finish up with their fundraising for the recount and someone isn't too pleased with that notion?

I didn't see any other posts about this...i'm sorry if it's a duplicate.

a couple of threads up people are saying they are able to reach the site...is it possible that it has already been hacked again???

26. Just read it, blogged it, saved it
I love Fitrakis.

BTW, Peroutka votes are suspiciously high, period. 11,614 statewide. In 2000, the Constitution Party's candidate received 3,823 votes, although that was the year Buchanan ran, so some of the Constitution Party votes might have gone his way.

But still, only 24 Cobb votes, STATEWIDE?!! Come on.

27. CASE Ohio needs plaintiffs
Could you guys please keep this kicked? Could you check among your friends to see if they fit into the classifications that CASE Ohio seeks?

NEEDED: Plaintiffs, Recount Volunteers in Ohio
Optiscan Ohio County DUer needed ASAP!!!

I am posting this for the legal team conducting the OH voter suppression hearings.

IMPORTANT call for volunteers and plaintiffs:

We need a few plaintiffs for the lawsuits that are
being filed concerning
the election.

We need one plaintiff who voted on optical scan in
Ohio this November and
who is worried that their vote may not have been
recorded correctly.

We need another plaintiff who voted on a touchscreen
machine and who is
worried that their vote may not have been tabulated
correctly.

We already have plaintiffs for: punch card,
provisional, and absentee
ballots.

If any of you are Republicans and are interested in
being a plaintiff, or
know someone that is, please contact me, Susan Truitt,
susan.truitt@lexisnexis.com or 614-487-1749. We are
trying to find people
representing various party affiliations.

We also need 25 voters who are willing to be
plaintiffs in the lawsuit for
an election contest that the coalition of nonprofits
announced yesterday.

We still need 2200+ observers for the Green party
recount. Sign up at
www.votecobb.org The Democrats have also indicated
that they will have
observers. I hope that they will have 2200+ as well.
Go to their website to
sign up: www.ohiodems.org

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN OHIO RESIDENT TO BE AN
OBSERVER FOR THE RECOUNT
PROCEDURE!

WHAT DOES BEING A PLAINTIFF MEAN? Your name would be
in the public as a
person who participated in filing the lawsuit(s). You
would have to give
testimony in a hearing or trial, and/or provide
testimony via an affidavit
or deposition. There would be no financial obligation
on your part to be a
plaintiff in these lawsuits.

Questions?

...I seem to remember an early 70's song by Crosby Stills Nash and Young...."Change the World"....
Though your brothers bound and gagged,
And they've chained him to a chair,
Won't you please come to Chicago (in this case Ohio)
Show your face....

39. I am signed up to go but -
I talked with someone at Cobb.org today and was told they are first trying to fill the volunteer spots with people who live locally - and also that the recount is not likely to start before the 13th. Have any of you heard differently? I do not want to miss this event so if anyone has any details about when the recount is to begin or any other details, please share them with me. Thanks.
