I've never seen this big of a voter turnout before |
|
The closest before was in '92. I didn't only have to stand in line to sign in. I had to wait for a booth also.
Large turnout always favors Democrats.

4. Anecdotally, Indiana voting has been light |
|
Everyone I have spoken with has said they had no problem or wait at the polls. This place is pathetically Republican, and the Democratic Party seemingly gave up early and often on campaigning here. I got one plea for money in the final hours of the campaign, but other than that, nothing.

I live in a blue state, Washington. Must be a sign of the times when an overwhelmingly red state won't come out for a Republican incumbent.

10. The KNOW they have it in the bag |
|
so they are sure they don't have to come out to vote. The last Democrat to win in the Indiana presidential race was John Kennedy.
They are so audacious that they are promoting Mitch Daniels for governor on the basis of his fiscal responsibility. This is the same Bush Administration Mitch Daniels that presided over the biggest budget debacle in the history of the world. If what I see in Indianapolis is any guide, he will defeat the incumbant Democrat governor in a landslide. And the incumbant (Joe Kernan) has done a very good job.
Kernan's problem is that he was a POW in Viet Nam, and came back to create a successful life that transcended into public service.
Mitch dodged the draft with college deferments, got arrested for selling large quantities of drugs when he was applying his MBA skills to the marketplace, pulled an insider trading deal that enriched his friends and himself, and simultaneously destroyed a utility company and its pensioners, for which he was rewarded with an executive position at Ely Lilly who then planted him into the bowels of the Bush Administration. So Mitch is the obvious choice for Repukes who appreciate his values.
These clowns will not learn, and are incapable of it from what I can see.

6. Largest turnout I've seen |
|
and I've been voting since 1972! Never missed an election.
I'm in SC. Waited in line for at least 1.5 hours today.
The only other time I've had to wait for more than 20 minutes was in 1972 - Nixon/McGovern.
Feeling very good about this one, but will hold down the excitement until results start coming in. If the Repukes are going to use bbv to steal the election, that probably won't show up until the counting begins. Being a programmer and web developer, I am well aware of how easily this election could be stolen using computer voting.
