Not sure how much of the article to copy and paste here, but I've added a small part of it below...
http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/news/local/10230149.htmBefore this election, she had supervised three presidential elections, four midterms, and a passel of municipal contests. Nothing had ever gone badly wrong. Results had been delayed, particularly the first time the county used electronic machines. But Page says firmly that she never lost a vote.
State officials, who will visit Gaston County on Monday to investigate what happened during the most recent election, agree there is no history of problems.
Perhaps because of that record, Page says she simply could not believe how much went wrong this time.
Her first responses to the emerging problems were dismissive, and to some voters infuriating. "She just flipped things off," said Jane Garver, 55, of Gastonia, an early voter.
Long lines at the county's two early voting places? "I've never heard anyone fussing about standing on line at Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving," Page said.
A turnout that was apparently the lowest in the state? "You have a presidential election and no one shows up to vote, but you put an ABC referendum in front of them and all of a sudden everyone shows up," she said.
Even when it was clear that people had showed up, but Page had failed to include more than 13,000 of their votes in the county's unofficial results, she was unapologetic.
"We're in the business of accuracy, not speed," she said at the time. And as recently as this Tuesday: "There's only one person that was perfect and that was Jesus. ... You quote me on Jesus. This county understands that."
