LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A judge on Monday disqualified the apparent winner of a disputed state Senate election, ruling that she had not lived in Kentucky long enough to meet residency requirements.

Jefferson County Circuit Judge Barry Willett ordered the Jefferson County Board Elections not to count votes cast for Republican Dana Seum Stephenson in the Nov. 2 election.

Stephenson—the daughter of veteran state Sen. Dan Seum, R-Louisville—outpolled her Democratic opponent, Virginia Woodward, by just over 1,000 votes in the 37th District in Louisville.

Woodward filed an election-eve lawsuit claiming Stephenson had not lived in Kentucky for at least six years as required by the state Constitution to be eligible to serve in the Senate.

12. Woodward Will Become Senator per "de facto"...
"The judge said that Woodward's request to not count votes for Stephenson would make Woodward "the de facto winner of the election."

Woodward's attorney appears to be confident, that Woodward is Kentucky's next state senator for the 37th District.

9. If they followed the letter of the law
bush wouldn't have been on the FL ballot. His campaign was late in filing the proper papers.

Why wasn't that challenged in court I wonder?

13. Everyone here already knew that she was ineligible BEFORE the election
I remember we were speculating weeks before the election on how long it would take the courts to notice that she had been an Indiana resident just three years ago. I don't know how she thought she was going to get away with it when everybody knew the truth.

She was a total fraud in every respect. She even posed with someone else's children in a political ad and suggested that they were hers in order to emphasize how 'family values' she was.

17. Remember this saying
If it happens to a Republican they are morally above the law. If it happens to a democratic they are sinful and immoral. It's OK as long as Republicans do it and bad if Democrats do it. They just love that double standard. Just look at how they are over turning the ethics law to allow Delay to stay there.
