No no no no -- I know Kerry to be an honest man. I know that. I trust him. Was confident he would be a great president.

I always understood what he was saying, but then again, I can follow long sentences. Yeah, he is subtle and thoughtful, but is not a marksman when it comes to rhetoric. Not a comment on the man, just his manner of speech.

I'm not quite sure what point you are making and why you would see a commentary on winding sentences as evidence of my conclusion that he is "dishonest" ...I will read your other posts here and try to figure out what motivated your reaction to my post. So Pax for now.

On edit: I find it incomprehensible that you concluded that I thought John Kerry was innately dishonest. Au contraire, mon cheri. I use the word "tortuous" in the sense of "winding all about, like a twisty turning thing", NOT "distorting." Next time I use a word like that, I will be sure to use the appropriate OED emoticon :-)

Please save those ugly fuming mad faces for someone who deserves it -- like Dick Cheney, and not turn them on me....

I do not blame you for your short temper and suspicion-- it is the times!

I am not contrasting the finesse, decency and honesty of Chris Heinz with John Kerry. They SHARE those qualities. They are family. Chris Heinz had John Heinz , a great man, as his Dad. He has accepted John Kerry as his stepDad, and has been open about his respect and admiration and affection for him. For those of us from the Burgh, that speaks vast volumes beyond the respect we already had for John Kerry of Massachusetts, before he married our beloved Teresa...

It's just the manner of speech, the use of language, mon cheri. Period. Chris just speaks more clearly, to the point. Coulda said what Vanessa tried to say in a more concise, focused manner.

22. Aside from the "still counting votes" comment...

doesn't anyone think the timing of this interview is curious...given the DNC's growing involvement in the Ohio recount, AS WELL AS Kerry's video tape last Friday (in which he also stressed 'still counting votes')? The 'vagueness' in BOTH seems to be AS MUCH AS the Kerry's could say...almost as if they were 'prisoners'...tapping out a verbal S.O.S. In fact, Keith Oberman joked that Kerry's video last week looked like it has been broadcast from 'an undisclosed location.'

Also, did anyone notice the photo they showed of Kerry on the campaign trail playing cards with Alexandra? In it he was carefully guarding his 'hand.' Thought it was interesting, since so many DU'ers refer to Kerry's current stance in the recount as someone carefully 'playing' his hand.

Hate to admit, but seeing the Kerry girls again, was like seeing Kerry's video last Friday...in which so many DU'ers said they were reminded how much they missed him. I felt the same nostalgia seeing the girls again. They have their father's integrity and intelligence.
The interview and video just isn't enough.

This was changed because the original section quoted, the convoluted nonsense, is nowhere to be found in the transcript. I even searched the transcript page for some of the words and they were not there.

So where did that original, apparently phony, tongue twisted quote come from?

Someone else I trusted posted it and I thought they were telling the truth. That is why I changed as fast as I found out that it was false to just the transcript. I was given bad information. I felt to be safe A self delete was in order. That means it was self deleted. I had time to edit it and I did.
