AFP: US Congress to investigate irregularities in November 2 vote
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20041123/pl_afp/us_vote_investigation_041123214553

I think this is the same story that CNN is running with the exception of this part from/about Kerry:

"His defeated Democratic opponent, Senator John Kerry, endorsed the investigation."

and

"I will fight for a national standard for federal elections that has both transparency and accountability in our voting system. It's unacceptable in the United States that people still don't have full confidence in the integrity of the voting process," Kerry said.

please forgive me if this is a dupe

1. "Defeated"? You mean, like in the Ukraine?

4. I just saw the Ukraine segment on Newshour with Jim Lehrer / PBS
It really horrified me. They are on the brink of civil war. If our president was not so thoroughly compromised and exposed as a charlatan, he could weigh in, but such is not to be.

..there has to be at least some value in AFP moving the story as well, right? and what about Kerry endorsing the investigation...I think that quote is from today and I did not see it within the CNN story...so there!

5. This is exactly what Kerry states in his video
From your AFP article:

His defeated Democratic opponent, Senator John Kerry (news - web sites), endorsed the investigation.

"I will fight for a national standard for federal elections that has both transparency and accountability in our voting system. It's unacceptable in the United States that people still don't have full confidence in the integrity of the voting process," Kerry said.

This is an excerpt from the transcript of Kerry's online video that I received via email:

I will fight for a national standard for federal elections that has both transparency and accountability in our voting system. It's unacceptable in the United States that people still don't have full confidence in the integrity of the voting process.

There is no mention of endorsing the investigation in the video. It appears that AFP might have taken liberties using the quote from the online video as an endorsement. That is disturbing if that's the case.
