1. This is interesting, but how do we know...
That its not a simple data entry error. To me that seems like the most apparent explanation. I won't say its the only explanation, but its one which should be considered. Occam's razor may apply in this instance.

2. Whoever compared Bush with Damian from the Omen today…..
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 12:45 AM by Buddhakitty
I can't post yet (maybe that's a good thing) .... Here's my rant ...

Whoever compared Bush with Damian from the Omen today…...It is really resonating with me. My religious beliefs lean way more towards Bill Maher than the Bible (i.e. religion is a neurological disorder), however, for whatever reason since reading that thread I have been thinking about it and there are a couple of things that I can’t rationalize.

1. Michael Moore in Stupid White Men. I don’t have the exact quote since I read it 3 or so years ago, but he mentions in that book that the Bush Family always seems to get over on him. No matter what the situation, the Bush family always succeeds in shutting him down, shutting him up or stopping him in whatever it is he is pursuing. He made it seem (from what I remember) it was just unexplainable but they always ‘won’

2. The elections. He certainly did not win in 2000 and probably did not win in 2004, but nonetheless he probably will remain president. The powers that be ALWAYS make sure he succeeds, survives and wins, even though it is obvious to half? of us, that he is and will continue do harm, not good. It’s like the people that want to see peace and prosperity are powerless against the nurse in the Omen or the tree that falls on that religious priest that was going to reveal the truth about him. Many people in many precincts say to it that they would ‘MAKE’ this happen by hell or highwater.

3. The religious leaders. They supported him and for what reason? Will he really do their work? If so, what is their ‘work’? Is it to ease the suffering of humanity, to make sure people are treated equally, to make sure people aren’t starving in the street. Well, if that is their mission they are failing miserably. They want a constitutional amendment to ensure gay people don’t have equal rights, they give the go ahead to conquer Iraq which killed at least 100,000 civilians. They are turning their backs on what they are supposed to believe in, almost like they are in a trance or under some sort of spell.

4. The media. We have seen serious atrocities in the past 4 years. A war based on weapons of mass destruction reduced to a war to liberate people. A prison scandal where our military personnel tortured people, but was reduced to inexperienced military going too far. Even before the war, the media has been almost SILENT on atrocities the Bush administration has done to the economy, to education, etc. They are silent. Almost possessed.

5. Teachers, manufacturers and others in red states voted for this idiot due ‘moral issues’ The fact that a vote for him was a vote for their own future employment makes me think they are either dumber than doorknobs, or they are possessed.

6. Going back to point #1. Dan Rather, 40 years in the business and he (tries) to run one story against Bushes AWOL record and a couple of months later, he’s retiring. He lost his credibility. Everything he reported on the subject was true, but the documents were re-created (not created, re-created) and now he’s lost all journalistic credibility. The powers that be make sure you don’t question his authority.

Maybe these things are just coincidences, but I really do think there are some strange analogies here though. If nothing else, this administration has some sort of hold or spell over people (half of them anyway). Or maybe this is just the rant of a mad woman that cannot make sense of this world anymore.

5. You sure do present a compelling case.
But, if he is the Prince of Darkness, we know he ain't the King of Light.

Perhaps, if there truely is a righteous God, he's allowing this man, who personifies the essence of anti-virtue, to cultivate his garden of evil and feed his malevolent ego....so that when the fall comes, it will be complete and irrecoverable. Perhaps Bush's destiny will be to serve mankind as a living testement of what happens when privilage and power are coupled with incompetence and ill-placed hubris. A tough lesson for us to learn, but perhaps deserving and needed for the Bush idol worshipers.

18. Maybe we are being tested.
or maybe God as a lousy sense of humor. I'm probably getting a little punchy at this wee hour. Just remember, it's always darkest before the light....

:-)

Good post though and welcome on board. Take heart that there's lots of us that think like you....and our numbers are growing everyday.

10. A very good rant.
Especially the part about people around Bush protecting him because he is "the one".

Someone needs to check his scalp.

This sort of thing doesn't sound as far fetched as it used to. Creeped me out when I read it the other night. Plus the first time I tried to post this, the post disappeared. Ahhhhh....

14. great post
"it was just unexplainable but they always ‘won’"

Yes, indeed. They not only always win, but they are always hanging around. Has there ever been a family in history with more "coincidences" surrounding it? Hundreds of suspicious things are associated with this family.

"It’s like the people that want to see peace and prosperity are powerless..."

Hidden behind the facade(s) is a ruthless drive for power that is amoral and relentless. Calling Bush an idiot and a chimp and an embarrassment leads us to miss this point. The Nazi leaders were seen as idiots and buffoons before they came to power, as well. That lulled the opposition into thinking that they weren't dangerous.

"They supported him and for what reason? Will he really do their work? If so, what is their ‘work’?"

Great question! Here is what they are telling me - they see the society collapsing (as do many of us) losing its bearings (so do I) and voted for him thinking that it was one place on a couple of issues where they could take a stand. Now, we can ridicule that easily, but we miss the point when we do and misunderstand Bush's supporters. NO he will not do the work, he is conning them and using them to grab power. Once he no longer needs them, they will be tossed aside with the rest of us. "Their work" is very similar to ours, believe it or not - to make a more tolerant and just and sane society. They have a different idea as to the method, and they are wrong about their method, but the motives are not so different than ours once you get past the religious rhetoric and arguments.

"They are silent. Almost possessed."

The media is as good as useless, and I can't believe that anyone watches or pays any attention to it anymore.

Those are a few of my thoughts. Thanks for the great post and welcome to DU!

6. yes

Also, this was coming from a Database.
You can tell by several reasons.

1. The numbers are sorted by who is winning (way to hard to do by hand quickly enough). That would be done with a "Select * From tablename ORDER BY votes DESC" in SQL. That would automatically do it for the print out.

2. There just would not be enough time to do it by hand.

3. If this was a spot error in the web page, it would have been the same for every county, but obviously some were wrong and most were not. Therefore, it was wrong in the database.

NOW THE QUESTION IS - WAS THIS COMMING DIRECTLY FROM THE TABULATOR'S DATABASE?

My clock says 9:46, which would be PM on Nov. 2nd CENTRAL TIME

:-)

I just found it. I am working on a response.

You are new (welcome!) but I am noticing over the last wek or so that the more clear the post, the more likely it is to die right now. I think a lot of people are hesitating before "taking the step" out of the world as we knew it, and into the new reality.

9. I read it
And I agree. I am very depressed and feel horrible about what is happening to our once great country. I can't explain it. It must be a spell. Possession. Something. I'm hoping people snap out of it soon.

It is just that a lot of people have already ranted on those subjects so don't feel the need to reply! Some things are cooincidence and some probably aren't. Whether Bush is the anti-Christ I don't know but he surely is evil! And that most would agree with! Welcome to DU.
