Could Someone Please Post Current Status of Efforts in Ohio?
I am seeing so many posts, citing various info.

Is it true the Judge has ruled against 3rd parties efforts because they would not benefit?

Is Kerry joining the effort?

If certification must take place first, will there be time for a recount?

Please don't post theories...does anyone have accurate, current info?

2. Answers
Is it true the Judge has ruled against 3rd parties efforts because they would not benefit?

No. He ruled that the recount cannot take place before the vote was certified. The deadline date for certification is December 6th.

Is Kerry joining the effort?

According to the Ohio Democratic Party, yes.

If certification must take place first, will there be time for a recount?

Not enough time as the presidential electors meet on December 13th.

Please don't post theories...does anyone have accurate, current info?

My turkey was very clever and got away. He left by the front door right after I asked him for his autograph. ;)

8. Ohio Judge also ordered a Temporary Restraining Order
against the Glibs in Delaware County. From Columbus Dispatch (reg. req. so no link):

Delaware County court blocks recount
Wednesday, November 24, 2004
Mary Beth Lane
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A Delaware County judge yesterday granted a temporary restraining order sought by the county’s Board of Elections to block Green and Libertarian presidential candidates from forcing a recount of the Nov. 2 election results.

<snip>The board is seeking a permanent injunction to quash the recount request.

<snip>

In the Delaware County case, the elections board wants to block a recount both before and after certification.

(I read somewhere else that they returned the Glib's check for the recount funds because they didn't file in a timely manner... forgetting at the moment where I read it but if anyone wants it I'll try to find a link.

6. sorry a little offsubject
i am baffled at the fact that in nearly every state the difference between the presidential vote and the senate vote is 1% to 1.5%. in pennsylvania it is 3.3%. in florida it is 4.5% and in ohio it is 4.9% . kind of ironic to me that it is this high in the swing states. i find it very hard to believe you would spend 4 hours in line and not vote for a senator to help pass the bills for your president. funniest thing of all nearly all of the "extra" votes were in dumbya's favor. now i'm not the smartest fish in the sea but i even caught this. i smell a rat..

11. It made it almost impossible in S Dakota and Oklahoma
You had good Democratic candidates who had just too much of a tide to swim against and they were caught by the undertow.

I haven't looked up the numbers, but I'd guess that the Democratic candidates in those two states ran a good 20 points ahead of Kerry, yet they still lost. It was just asking too much to swim against that much of a tide.

13. Also, Kentucky was close...
It was a shame about Kentucky...after the election, Mongiardo said he wished he could have gotten some financial help.

But the Senate Dem Committee ran out of money, & had to borrow at the end.

The Senate candidates SHOULD have had more money.

18. you're misunderstanding he means that there are 70,000 votes left to be
counted, but of those counted already , I think he's referring to the provisionals, Bush's lead has grown, if he is referring to the provisions that increase is about 4-5000 but the biggest Democrat leaning counties are still to be counted and Kerry has polled above Bush in the provisionals (though not by much) compared to the count on the night.

19. ok. i stopped hyperventelating and actually did the math
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 11:51 PM by Buddhakitty
IF, what I read are the true numbers, it actually is a difference of 5,338. I don't know why I took that as 155,338 but I did (public school system maybe). Then you are right AND if the strong dem counties have not yet been counted yet then A GREAT BIG FUCKING WHEW. You have no idea how much hope I have riding on this. I am obsessed to the point of no return. Thank you for making me check the numbers. Thank you for not letting me go to sleep crying tonight!

20. no problem I know how much of an emotional roller coaster this all can be
I would say hope, believe even, but limit your expectation and obsession (unless of course that is driving you to positive action in which case stay right on it) this is all a long shot and the odds are still really stacked in favor of it not happening, so don't set yourself up for too much of a fall if you can help it.
