Is the Patriot Act Being Used to Silence Democratic Leadership? |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 02:08 AM by truehawk
I had this thought when I was reading Madsen's update.
I can see Kerry being quite, I had knowledge of him before only as a money laundering sleuth. I can see how Edwards would be very worried and busy with two small children and a sick wife. But that does not explain the silence of the Dean, or the Sharpton. Silence from them is definitely out of character.
The only thing that I can think of to explain the silence and acquiescence of our usually feisty Leadership is that they have been told not to make waves that would interfere with an ongoing "Homeland Security" investigation.
Perhaps they have been told that it is likely that there has been widespread tampering of the election results, paid for by a foreign power, and that they are to do nothing that would alarm the perps sp they will be lulled so they will not completely clean the evidence before the investigators get there.
There are gag rules in the Patriot Act that subject a person to criminal penalties if they disclose that there is an investigation or that a request has been made for Records. I wonder if there are likewise gag rules about disclosing that an investigation is underway.
So there are "leaks" here and there about FBI activity.
However what if there real FBI investigation, but to be conducted over a very long period of time.
The Patroit Act could be used to muzzle the Dems until 2008 in Bush's America.
That Act Does NOT BELONG IN A DEMOCRACY!!!

1. Madsen has been interviewed over and over as an expert on |
|
security issues, especially on his protests that the FBI, CIA and other law enforcement and investigations arms already had the capability to "spy" on alleged criminal activity and did not need the "Patriot Act."
Just do a google like this
Wayne Madsen National Security Agency
Literally hundreds of references of Madsen over the past ten years speaking and writing on the issue. This guy is not a dumb hack at all.
If Kerry and the others are aware that something is truly dirty, they would be smart to let some like Madsen leak it out instead of themselves.
Besides, Madsen also could be getting his info on the disgruntled "techs" from pissed off CIA and FBI members. Remember who was "leaking" info about Bush before the election?

3. I don't disagree with anything you have said NV writer |
|
Nor do I take issue with the fact that Wayne Madsen is known and creditable and has reported on some pretty dirty government laundry before.
I am not saying that he is part of the Scam. However, it occured to me that IF there is an FBI investigation ongoing, and IF it involves something that can be tortured and twisted to fit into the Patroit Act's broad perview, then the provisions of that act could be used to effectively prohibit comment until "Whoops" it is 2008. Because they want to ignore the little fish to get the big guy you know.
And I am not sure it would be illegal.

6. Someone should ask Dean & Sharpton. |
|
If it's not true, they'd deny it. If it is true, you'd get a no comment. So either way, we'd know.

8. I've Been Thinking Something Like This Too For The Past Few Days |
|
That the reason for Kerry's fast concession and dead silence from all the Dem players, suggests that something along the lines of an FBI investigation is underway.
I was thinking, though, that both Kerry and Bushco know there was fraud, that they have been talking about it, and that this Dem silence is part of an agreement to let this investigation proceed.
I didn't get to the point in my thinking that the election fraud was the result of action from a foreign power, however.
As far as I got, was that both Kerry and Bushco know Kerry won, both the Electoral votes and the popular vote, and are onworking a way to avoid a constitutional crisis and/or civil unrest.
If Kerry is inaugurated in January, it would support my thinking. However, if Bush is inaugurated in January, then it seems that this whole mystery goes another level or two deeper.
Anyone who remembers the way the Iran-Contra affair unfolded, will remember how it was like an onion, where layer, after layer of lies were peeled back until we finally got an idea of what happened. Although, most Americans never did fully grasp what happened, not unlike the 2000 election, or 9/11 so far. AND, Poppy was elected after Reagan anyway.

I to have been perplexed in all of the silence. I hope that someone of prominence starts speaking to bring the matter into the mainstream of the media. I also have spent time searching the web for foreign news items pertaining to fraud in our election process. Strangely I could not find anything on all of the sites I viewed. As if nothing here is being questioned. Although I did find numerous articles praising that Bush was reelected. Strange!!!

Sorry, guys. I have lost all faith that ANYTHING is being done to investigate the fraud in this election. I have tried my best to hold on to whatever sliver of hope there was. I see none, at this point in time. If I am proven wrong - I'll be more than happy to eat my words and do "penance" for the democratic party. I just can't see how any of this will be exposed in any meaningful way - and I see us approaching 08 with the same bullshit system we have today.

Welcome to DU! :hi: I'm not sure what foreign web news items you found, but I saw very little "relief" over * being re-selected. In fact, what I saw was shock and utter bewilderment that so many Americans supposedly voted for the moran. -Laelth

18. Maybe Bush knows - but wasn't in on it ???? |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 05:34 PM by suziedemocrat
They said Karl Rove was crying the day of the election telling Bush how he'd let him down and Karen Hughes was sure they had lost. Is it possible there was fraud - but Bush, Rove, and Hughes weren't involved? I think Bush STILL looks like he was the loser. His eyes look very sad.
Of course .... I thought Monica made all that stuff about Bill Clinton up to impress her friend Linda Tripp. I was sure Clinton was telling the truth when he said "I did not have sex with that woman." I haven't trusted my instincts since. :-(
My initial thought was they thought maybe they could "fix" a very close election. I think they had things in the works - but they were obviously untested - and I don't think it could have been that well organized, for obvious reasons. The exit polls showed a clear Kerry win. I think on election day they saw the polls so decisively for Kerry and figured it was way beyond what they could "fix". I think they were as surprised as anyone that it worked so well. I thought they put some ideas out to try - and they were surprised it went so well.

The Patriot Act would be a muzzle--let people expect that something is happening when it is not.

the silence accross the board. When have we ever known Al Sharpton to be quiet.........even if he faced jail time?? And, M. Moore, too? In some small way it still gives me hope that things are happening behind the scenes for the good.
