National "Wear Your Tin Foil Hat to Work" day...
Wouldn't this be an effective way to demonstrate how many of us really have grave doubts about our system?

It would certainlly point out the absurdity of the situation.

Tin foil hats would show we ourselves don't even believe the election was stolen.

2. I think intelligent thougthful people in tinfoil hats
would show that the name calling needs to end and folks need to re-evaluate their perspective.

3. I'll tell you what
this isn't a bad idea. Everyone I know who voted for Kerry here in Maryland are still shocked and very worried, but many people, many many people, have very little knowledge about the "underground" movement that's investigating the possiblity of fraud. Whenever I come across folks that I know voted for Kerry and mention the voting machine rigging, you can see the light bulb go off in their head. This happened yesterday with an older couple in their fifties. The husband is engineer and the wife a retired school teacher and they couldn't pick my brain enough. They had their suspicions sitting dormant in their heads for three weeks now, but figured that they were just that, and that perhaps they were just being cynical. When I left them, I could see a sense of indignation and burning curiosity. At first they thought it was just them having these ideas, but after talking with me, they knew that there were others out there with the same suspicions.

I think there a lot of people like this who just don't go around talking to folks about it for fear of appearing like sore losers. What they need is that window of oppurtunity to start the discussion and spread the news.
"Oh, I saw this person with a tin foil hat on today, well guess what they were saying?"

Coming across someone with a "tin foil hat" may provide that oppurtunity to make that discussion possible. Folks who wear these hats or buttons or whatever the case may be should have their case for fraud prepared in their head and be very able to deliver it in a deliberate succiinct and coherant manner.

There are a lot of folks out there ready to listen, especially since everyone is bracing themselves for the disaster that we are headed for.

Those people would think we belong in the mental institutions.
Is that the plan here?
You can wear all kinds of things to indicate you believe the election was stolen. Why in the world would you wear a tin foil hat?:eyes:

12. because it is an attention getter?
I don't see the MSM drawing attention to the theft of the vote.

Ya know,I'm relatively calm now, pretty much jaded about it all in fact. But on the day after the election I was outraged. Three hours of sleep and a sense of urgency that I have never experienced.

The realization that WE ARE NOW A FASCIST COUNTRY hit me like a ton of bricks. Scares the crap out of me. I have three teens. I don't want to leave the country, and to folks who know the situation, that is a very viable alternative for many. I will not stick around if nothing changes, if people don't massively organize against this administration soon. And I have no idea how folks can organize without even knowing the facts.

I think any effort to draw attention is better than whining all day on a message board.

18. I feel your pain, Donailin .
I was hit like a ton of bricks after the election, too. Since then I've done almost nothing but read and try to educate myself. The idea that we do indeed live in a facist country was new to me and took some time to sink in.
I teach at a very conservative school in rural Alabama. I don't know how I could even bring up the subject (of election fraud or the fact that we are now a facist state) without being laughed at. I'm in the middle of "JesusLand" and people here watch a lot of Fox news and depend heavily on the MSM. We need an alternate media and/or a massive letter writing campaing to the local newspapers.

19. For fun! If politics isn't fun, it's not worth doing.
Lighten up and have some faith in yourself and in other people.

Humor is a tremedous vehicle for politics. My bet is the vast majority of Americans have no idea what "tin foil hat" means.

Now you've got a point there, and I could easily imagine the fun Fox and the other bullshit media would have with this.

They know something is wrong, but they have a hard time believeing how wrong, especially in light of the lack of any information.

25. Save this one...
...for the week when the dam breaks. When prime time anchormen start leading with "so did Kerry win Ohio?"... Then we can all wear our tinfoil hats to work. In pride.

8. I was thinking as a march...
A sea of tinfoil below the Capital steps, like 200K or so in tinfoil.

The other thing I thought of was for each of us to mail a roll of tinfoil to our representatives. Imagine the house and senate mailrooms dealing with thousands of rolls of tinfoil...

must surely be part of the opposition. Yeah that's it!

Maybe YOU are the double agent. You protest a little too much.

Get a grip for God's sake. It's a good idea.

:hippie:
I've now officially been called a Freeper. Shucks, I'm honored. But no kicking donkey?
:grouphug:

Before You continue this line of thought, might i suggest that you read more of what I've written? There are only 8 posts left to find after all. Here's one to get you started. I'm not a donating member so I can't search them all out, but I seem to remember muttering something about the attack on the election being multi-modal.

When you look at my profile here you find that I'm a private person, but I've been around the net a looong time. :hippie:

I am a geek, that term was *very* bad when I grew up. We embraced it and now it's a symbol of pride.

If you don't think symbology isn't important in political activity, then think about the key shaking in the Balkans, the orange flags in the Ukraine...

-Hoot

Edit: Further, on second thought, they should be tinfoil Cowboy hats!

15. Awesome!!!! Yes....

You Dems who are always afraid what "the people" will think, or "the impression" you'll give... are displaying the same tendency that allowed Bush to get (I'm assuming) at least 50 million votes.

The right has been able to move the discourse far far over to their side. They've done this by putting forward ideas that, when first introduced, are far outside of what most people think. Then they slowly move opinion towards them. (of course this requires ideas and knowing where you want to go...)

Yes! Tinfoil hat is a brilliant idea. No one can call you a tin-foil hat person to dismiss what you say, they'll look like an idiot. Of course, so will you... but honestly ... people are more likely to listen to someone who is willing make an ass of themselves.

DO IT FOR YOUR COUNTRY DAMNIT!!!

23. I'm glad that most of you understand what I was getting at.
just prior to the day the electoral college meets would be a good time. Has anyone heard if the march on the state capitols thing is going ahead???

If all else fails, inauguration day would also be a wonderful time to wear a tinfoil hat.

24. At the risk of seeming egotistical -
I'm going to kick my own thread :)

This topic is only half in jest -

Wouldn't you like to know how many people out there in the big real world have doubts?

Are we just a few lone souls crying in the wilderness, or are we the foundation of a strong grass roots democratic (NOT partisan democratic) revival?

Yes, I'd like to see the tin foil had become a symbol of a dissenter that is not afraid of ridicule. Ridicule and group think are the primary weapons of the opposition, let's render them useless.
