I'm scrolling and I don't see anything as of today.

Did anyone see any mention of it on television?

6. He spoke of the Connaly vote discrepency
He also spoke a lot about sports analogies. You don't let the UC Athletics director be the referee of a game between UC & UK. The reason teams from anywhere can play each other is because the rules are the same. The lawyer Cliff Arnebeck spoke arenbeck@aol.com

He is the one who stated that Kerry votes had been shifted to Bush.

Jesse also talked about all states having different rules governing elections. He said we have no federally protected right to vote, just a stae right. He is talking constitutional amendment.

8. Thanks rosebud57!

At last we can get an update.

We need this to really go full force and wake up the Democrats as well as the world.

As I recall Jesse's original statement,he mentioned the PEOPLE. I read into it that he is calling on people to be with him when he calls for a major march.

He can't march alone.
The Ukraine has done a good thing. They have set the Marching bar very high.

We must get our base to understand the FRAUD and SUPPRESSION issues.

Let's MARCH!

12. you are right and he did say march.

I'm not sure what Rainbow Push has to do with it but he did solicit funds for Rainbow, something about a chapter in Ohio. I guess Ohio does not already have Rainbow Push. Not clear on where the money he raised for Rainbow Push would go towards. Lots of ministers and the pressure was for ministers to give $100.

The rally is this Sat. in Columbus. I would like to see silmultaneous rallies in Cincinnati, Dayton, Youngstown, Akron and Cleveland.

18. I'd say all TV stations were there, multiple photographers and the press
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 01:12 PM by rosebud57
asked questions at the end. When I say all TV stations I mean local affiliates. Other than press there were all the people from the Corryville library meeting, Cliff Arnebeck the lawyer, the other guy Bill something, Juliet, lots of ministers and African Americans all dressed up. I thought I saw Peter Bronson GOP schill at the Cincinnati Enquirer. Will see who gets the byline. Laketa Cole and Alicai Reese were there but not luken or Cranley or Pepper.

Jesse is a preacher so there was that quality to his speech with lots of signifying.

24. Jesse Jackson
I just saw him on 'Crossfire' but didn't see the whole thing.
He compared our election to the Ukraines'.
While he talked, there was a print board saying that Kerry does not support the recount and that Bush won despite the 'irregularities'
What is going on with him? Can we believe that?

11. I'm all for that one!

Have you noticed that every time they beat him down he picks himself up?

He was trained well by MLK, yes he was.

I also believe that he understands that he was placed here on earth to seek justice for others. So, he does not worry about the personal battles, he does not let them stop him.

We could all take a lesson from Jesse.

I doubt African-Americans are simply going to sit back and allow BushCo to take them back to the Jim Crow days!

27. We need more than African Americans in this effort!

Every Kerry supporter was treated just like the Blacks in the 50's on Nov, 2nd 04. The feeling was the same - anger, rage, something was stolen or taken from you that you know you earned.

We really won, but they would not let us win.
That is the feeling that we as African Americans feel everyday when we get up in the morning.

What happens to a dream deferred? It's like a Raisin In The Sun.

During the Civil Rights Marches we would have accomplished little without the support of people of every hue walking WITH us!

Jesse Jackson is a super star but he needs a lot of us Twinkles to make this one shine!

20. Some Cincinnati coverage
Here's coverage on his appearance (tho' not 12/04 rally).

http://www.cincypost.com/2004/11/29/jack112904.html

http://cincynow.com/news/2004/local/11/29/recount.html

Dr. Jackson mentioned the Columbus event, 12/04. Called it a march and rally. Someone (Common Cause?) handed out flyers to all attendees (probably 100 - 150). Please come if you can make it: statehouse, Columbus, 1 pm. Greg Palast confirmed as featured speaker.

BTW, Kerry picked up 1,778 votes in Hamilton county with provisionals. About 400 votes were tossed out because voters got in the wrong line in a location that housed multiple precincts!

Fight for Democracy Rally

Saturday, December 4, 2004
1:00 p.m. Ohio Statehouse

Featured Speakers:
Journalist Greg Palast

Fact:
Thousands of Ohio citizens had difficulty voting
on November 2nd.

Despite thousands of complaints, a planned recount,
statewide public hearings, several lawsuits, a Congressional
investigation and the outcry of voters rights groups, this fact
has been dismissed or underreported by the mainstream media.
Even Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell indicated the Ohio
election was a huge success, saying, "We came through with flying colors."
Washington Times, 11/04/04

We need thousands of people to attend the
"Fight for Democracy Rally"
to draw attention to voter issues AND to
support the Congressional probe of allegations of irregularities in the November 2nd presidential vote.

Please plan to attend and bring your friends!

America’s election system is badly flawed. So flawed, that a Cal Tech/MIT
study of the 2000 Election discovered that as many as one in 18 citizens
was disenfranchised due to procedural and/or technological anomalies.
The 2004 election was no different! All citizens must have equal access
to voting and the electoral process in order to ensure our democracy!

Following the Rally
"Stand Up and Be Counted; A CASE for Democracy"
Public Symposium
6:00 p.m.
Africentric Middle School, 300 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH.

28. The Rev. Jesse Jackson is a TRUE minister

and an activist from his heart.

I recall him going to rescue the hostages.
I remember his masterful campaign.

I remember all the times that he has stood up for injustices, he is the real deal!

God Bless You Jesse!
