Why pay techs to help rig when you can just hack the tabulators? |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 07:45 PM by jsamuel
Well, if you wanted to be thorough, you would need someone with access to the touch screens and someone with the knowledge of how to make the paper trails in other forms match the computer tallies.
One example I saw on DU from another poster (can't remember who):
- Nevada: They said they were at the polls and 2 Republican watchers went over to the back of a touchscreen machine and opened a panel. Then one of them read something off of a piece of paper, while the other one typed in stuff to the panel. They were done in seconds.
How hard would it be to do this? Obviously from the discription, not hard at all. IF YOU ARE A TECH WHO KNOWS THE EQUIPMENT. YOU NEED TECHS SO THAT THE MACHINE TOTALS AND PAPER TOTALS MATCH THE COMPUTER TABULATED TOTALS!-- YES I AM ANSWERING MY OWN QUESTION!
Why wouldn't have we heard more about this? Because it doesn't seem like a big deal at the time and if anyone did see it, they either did not report it, or they were blown off like the guy from Nevada at the DU.

Because you are The Bush's. You have more money than sense. And someone decided that a fast buck could be made and took them to the cleaners.
That's why.

2. The tamperers posed as voting machine repair guys. |

I'd bet on it. My son worked at a poll in San Diego. He said they had repairmen sent by the Registrar's office come out several times to work on machines that had problems.

I dunno. Cause you can? Bush rules with brute force. He isn't very smart when it comes to crime, and neither is Rove or Cheney. They only win because they are more brutal. Why cover your tracks when half of the people won't even admit to the truth when it is found out? Why out Valerie Plame? That wasn't a smart move. We all know they did it. Will they be prosecuted? They lied about Iraq, too. They knew we would find out eventually that there was no WMD or Al-Queda. They just didn't think anything would be done about it if they got caught. And they were right. These people know no boundaries, and think they can get away with everything. They're pretty sloppy as far as criminals go. Why would it change as far as vote fraud goes?

if one fradulent approach were used, the riddle would be solved too easily=discovery and takedown assured and fast

The paper totals don't matter, really. The votes are tabulated either from the PCMCIA cards which are sent to the county HQ or can be modem'd in. Once there are votes for a bunch of different precincts, what the various totals on those papers don't make a bit of difference.
oh, they WOULD make a difference if there were good auditing procedures in place everywhere, but there aren't.
Oh, and your NV example -- not absolutely sure what went on there, and whatever it was shouldn't have involved partisans, but from the description, that's proof of absolutely nothing. My guess is that it was the hourly totals -- another useless excercise except to make sure the total votes = total voters signed in. NOT an indication of fraud at all, but probably a violation (one would hope) of the state law for partisans to be doing it.
Edited: Oh, and next time? Don't yell in red, 'kay? Yell in you want, yell in bold or even big and bold, but not in big, bold AND red.

7. because you try to make sure it's done even if you have to do it |

three different ways.
btw the same could be said about harrassment. why suppress the vote at the polls if you're going to hack the tabulators.
you don't take chances when you're stealing an election..
btw, could you stop with the extra extra large text. It's harder to read.
