Canada: Bush Visit Likely To Stir Passions

Protest organizers are pulling out all the stops as they try to gather crowds in time for a visit to Canada by U.S. President George W. Bush.
Mr. Bush comes Tuesday to a nation where many people are deeply unhappy about his policies. He can expect major protests in Ottawa and reportedly cancelled plans to address Parliament because of the likelihood of being heckled.

His pending visit was the source of lively exchanges Monday in the House of Commons, where opposition politicians pressed the government to use the opportunity to push trade and security issues.

...Mr. Bush's two-day visit was announced only a few weeks ago, leaving little time to rally demonstrators. But protest organizers, who say their intentions are peaceful, hope to get thousands of people into the streets.

1. England swings like a pendulum do
CanadIANS have about the same courage as do Americans I venture, but I certainly hope we see a hundred or so thousand of them in the streets during Georgies little visit to explain about that mad cow thingie and such.

2. Don't they have more important things to do,
like go shopping? /sarcasm

I just have to wonder how bad it will have to get before people here see the light. Maybe the greens were right.

6. Because the Sinclair boycott had organization and direction
as well as a central source calling the shots. Blogs should work together on the stolen election, instead of working seperately. We need a centralized site that everyone goes to, as well as lists all Senators' and Congresspeople's addresses and phone numbers, media contacts, and sample letters. This site could be complete with a petition and an organized, sourced list of proof of voter disenfranchisement, voting machine glitches, and funny statistics. Someone experienced with PR could formulate a daily theme for our phone calls.

I hate to talk the talk but not walk the walk, but I do not have the know how or resources to run a site. The BBV site is fair at best for this. I don't blame Bev, as she is busy doing other important work, and has little time to manage a site. I believe the "Stop Sinclair" site was started by the "Run Against Bush" people. We need someone to do likewise now, and manage a site nearly full time. And we need to get the site out to all blogs as the "official" site of encouraging an investigation of the 2004 election. Only then will our efforts be fruitful.

"The demonstration, organized by the Wellstone Democratic Club of Silicon Valley, and by The Dean Democratic Club of Silicon Valley, was to protest the Media's near complete silence concerning voting irregularities in the 2004 presidential election."
