We now know Rove's tactic on recount
From what many have posted about Blackwell being on MSN NBC the tactic will be to PISS off taxpayers. They are about to spread miss information on the cost of recounts and how recount is costing more then it is worth.

I already have thought up of a counter for this and I'm sure we have a lot that we can use. If they attack recount we attack Iraq war plain and simple.

17. To elect Arnold Schwarzenegger cost California $80 Million
and that was when California was borrowing money after the electric power scam.

6. The price of a recount
reflects negatively on those who committed the fraud, not on the people who just wanted their vote counted in the first place. The scam was costly, on many levels.

11. if it is only 13 cents a resident
I am sure that we can come up with public money to pay for the cost.

I will personally pay for say 200 ohioian's share of the cost.

31. This is the PERFECT soundbite - It comes to $0.13...
It is easy to make the total sound huge -- 13 cents is something that everyone will understand is tiny...

4. Fuck Rove and His Money Argument !
Based upon your comment, we only need to mention that the Bushitler carnage and genocide in Iraq is costing US $ 5,000,000,000 per month, in return for which in November alone so far, about 120 parents will be receiving the burnt body parts of their children in wooden boxes, while the Bushitler family warm their evil asses by nice warm fireplaces in the Brown House, while thousands of Iraqi civlians are being murdered in cold blood in their own country.

Fuck Karl (Goebbels) Rove and His Filthy Gestapo Money !

13. Counterattack: under Bush's liberal cut and spend policies.....
each of us went $14.70 deeper in debt EACH DAY this month, on average.

Check out the figures at http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/opd/opdpenny.htm

Each of us is over $30,000 in debt because of profligate cut and spend economics.

5. Old Republican tactic.
I had a city clerk bare her teeth at me when I told her that the newspaper advertisements of city public notices did not meet state standards. She said they were trying to save the city money. Same thing about other items that cheated the public of open records. But, they realized their "mistake" after I got a few people involved.

7. isn't the Cobb campaign paying for the recount
it was $120,000, The state charges $5 per precinct per county I believe and the candidate calling for the recount has to pay. Maybe that's not enough to cover the expense but that's what the state is charging

8. I think it's pretty easy to argue
Why be concerned about perceived lack of "democracy" in the Ukraine and not the USA?

Seems some want to just invalidate their election based on exit poll and such....

12. Rove's tactic
I'm new, be nice! It seems that the other part of the attack will be to try to discredit Jesse Jackson, Blackwell repeated J.J. sort of jumping on the bandwagon for facetime, joining the parade. Watch out for insulting and discrediting anyone that questions him (Blackwell) also tried to minimize glibs.

Oops, Sorry! Thanks for the Welcome. The $$$ is important and easy to fend off attacks with reminders already stated, I watched the K.O. interview and IMHO, think they are intending to trash anyone and everyone that questions legitimacy issues.

19. Hey, Rove? How much did bush's Mission Impossible stunt cost us taxpayers
Over a million dollars, at least, followed by denials and deception as to who was responsible for that banner.

Get over yourself, Karl. Republicans are penny wise and pound foolish.

20. Here is my argument
Nobody would be paying this money if the election was screwed with in the first place! As a matter of fact nobody would be paying this money if the Republicans did not screw with the election in the year of 2000. The Republicans just like to spend other peoples money, bottom line.

21. a 2nd tactic
is to delay the Ohio election result certification (sched for Dec 6th I believe) as close as possible to Electoral college voting (Dec 12th I believe).

6 days isn't enough to recount so elecollege will happen on the 12th and declare * winner.

(speculating)

Meanwhile the attack dogs are presumably waiting in the wings ready to pounce on Kerry with the "flip-flop" sound bite, should he step up and ask for a recount with the other candidates, for conceeding & then asking for a recount.

22. Exactly how much is democracy worth? The dying troops in Iraq want to know
I'm sure the troops, orginially there to protect US from those wmds their commander in chief told them were there but who are now spreading that great "gift from God" - democracy, would love to hear the anwer to that one.

If democracy is worth the lives of over 1,000 US soldiers, and tens of thousands of Iraqis, exactly what amount of money is too much to actually practice, and protect, democracy?

Can rove put a price on this democracy?

23. Yep. They used that tactic in California.
I now have my doubts as to whether Gray Davis really lost his recall election. If he actually did it's largely because they were able to upset voters about their energy bills. Of course it was the feds that refused to enforce the regulations until after Californians got bilked...

Don't get me wrong. I think Gray Davis sucked, but Schwarzenegger? At least we didn't wind up with that Simon guy.

if Blackwell/Ohio hadn't bought crap voting machines to begin with.

Ohio made poor decisions with its budget for the election. That's where the wasted money is, in those worthless machines.
