If Cobb/Greens help to change the Ohio results and Kerry/Edwards win,
what is the pay-off for the Greens?

I'd be open to just about any cabinet level /Department position.....what would the Greens want? Interior? EPA?

1. as a green....
i can tell you this as an individual member and elected official.
A democratic party with a progressive platform, a party with spine, and a party willing to take on any challenges, not because they've calculated the odds of winning and think its a good bet, but because it is the right fucking thing to do.

2. I agree, it is the right thing to do....
but what would you guys like in a K/E administration? I personally would want Kerry to move hard on his alternative/renewable energy program. Ween ourselves off oil and the international achilles tendon that it is, create domestic jobs, and begin a transformation of our infrastructure to adapt to a post-Peak Oil world. Personally, I think that's where the Green agenda can be most effective.

At least that's what I've read.

10. I think Democrats have lots of overlap with Greens. We aren't
mutually exclusive. This presents an opportunity for Democrats to mend fences with an important bloc of activists. Kerry and Edwards would have their hands full on domestic/international issues....yet we have lots of important work to be done in areas where Greens would be critical to the effort.

when the Dems were hanging back. I think at least some people will look into joining our party (htttp://gp.org) and many others will have a hightened respect for us and for third parties in general. I think we should work on getting Approval Voting (http://approvalvoting.org/) or other voting systems such as IRV which San Francisco just voted in so that third parties can play a larger role. Also changing the electoral college so its not winner take all. In general I think we need to move towards coalition ruling and break the 2 party monopoly which is choking the life out of our whole system (including the 2 major parties themselves), not allowing new ideas to flow and constricting the discussion to right and farther right. Some appointments in the Kerry admin would be great too. We have to continue building up local and state Green positions and maybe the increased name recognition we get from this will help make that happen. :-)

17. The Greens are an indispensible part of a progressive Democratic party
And can be incorporated as such: http://pdamerica.org/ More power to both parties!

3. How about black box voting reform ASAP !
Verifiable voting would be my first priority. Bring our troops home is second.

9. If it turns the trick
..by virtue of the Glibs destroying the facade of a bush victory, the glue binding the Glibs with the Democratic party may form a bond that could alter the course of America.

Sure as snow is white, if the Glib challenge pays off in a big surprise, Glibs will take an important place in the big tent. Hell, I am a shadow Glib anyway. Being able to come out as a Glib to the local dem party may be much easier to do over the next few months, if this Ohio business plays out as we expect.

Our new heroes: the Glibs?

11. Exactly....this presents an extremely important opportunity to
elevate the Glib agenda within the Party....and who would resist such an inclusionary gesture based on a sucessful outcome of the Ohio recount.

I know it's waaaaay premature, but an interesting point to think about anyway.

13. Dems need the Glibs: Glibs need the Dems
Come together, right now, or forever forget having our peace.

Whatever the outcome, the very fact that it was Glibs who have brought the Ohio issue to the fore, speaks volumes about the kindred nature we majority Dems share with the Greens and Libertarians. Let there be a matrimony of sorts as we put aside our acrimony. Let the Dems and Glibs and be good bedfellows and not be strangers any longer.

We need the Glibs. We really, really need those good people. Let this be our new beginning.
